## Description

A simple outlet suits some exterior ventilation needs, others benefit from a cover that responds to airflow. The TURVENT grille combines automatic louvres with an integrated mesh for a practical wall-mounted exhaust outlet. Its brown ABS finish is designed for outdoor use.

## Best use cases

Use this grille as an exterior outlet for a tumble dryer exhaust, or with other exhaust systems such as air conditioning units, kitchen hoods, stove vents and suction fans. It is designed for exhaust ventilation, making it a useful choice where air needs to leave through an exterior wall rather than enter through a vent.

The 4" (100mm) size is intended for round ducting, and the grille is described as compatible with all types of round ducts. For a tumble dryer installation, the integrated mesh helps prevent debris from entering the vent, while the automatic louvres open as air flows out. Once airflow stops, they close to help prevent rear draughts and outdoor elements from passing back through the outlet.

## What you’ll notice day to day

The louvres move with the airflow, so the outlet opens during ventilation instead of remaining permanently open. This provides a practical alternative to a fixed, open grille when you want the vent cover to close between exhaust cycles. The integrated mesh adds another useful feature for an exterior opening, helping keep debris out without changing the grille’s purpose as an exhaust outlet.

For a typical installation, the cover mounts on an outside wall at the duct outlet. It can be fitted using screws or glue, giving you two installation approaches to suit the wall and the setup. The brown colour offers a more subdued finish on an exterior surface, while the ABS plastic construction keeps the cover light in material choice and suited to vent-cover use.

## Questions before you buy

**What duct size is this grille for?** It is listed as a 4" (100mm) vent grille, with a 3.9-inch flange diameter. Its design is compatible with round ducts.

**Do the louvres stay open all the time?** They open and close in response to airflow. During exhaust, they open to let air pass, when airflow stops, they close to help reduce rear draughts and keep outdoor elements from passing through the vent.

**Can it be used for a kitchen hood as well as a tumble dryer?** Yes. It is intended for exhaust ventilation and is also listed for air conditioning units, kitchen hoods, stove vents and suction fans.

## Is it worth it?

This TURVENT grille brings together the key features needed for a tidy exterior exhaust point: a round-duct fit, airflow-operated louvres and an integrated mesh. It is particularly suited to a tumble dryer vent where a cover that closes between uses is preferable to a permanently open outlet. The choice of screw or glue mounting also gives flexibility when fitting it to an exterior wall.
