## Description

This compact smart plug offers remote control over household appliances and saves time with scheduled on and off routines, making it useful for lighting, heaters and small kitchen devices. It works over your home network as a smart plug Wi‑Fi remote control and supports voice commands through Alexa and Google for hands‑free operation.

## Key Points

The pack includes four individual plugs so multiple circuits can be automated at once. Setup is designed to be straightforward using the Tapo app, with no extra hub required, and the app supports device sharing so family members can control sockets from their own phones. Away Mode toggles devices at varied times to create the appearance of occupancy, which can be convenient when you are out.

Voice control is supported with [amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tapo-Automated-Scheduling-P100-4-pack/dp/B0875CTMGH?tag=ukoftitasto-21) Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing simple commands to turn lamps, fans and other appliances on or off. Scheduling and timers allow you to create routines for daily use, while remote control from anywhere lets you operate devices when away from home. Note that EV charging is not supported and the plug is intended for indoor use only, according to the manufacturer.

## Benefits

Using these plugs reduces the effort of manual switching and can help manage energy use by ensuring devices are not left on unnecessarily. The ability to create repeating schedules simplifies morning and evening routines, and device sharing helps households coordinate control. For example, you can set a coffee machine to start before you wake up or program lighting to follow a timetable for security. 🕒

Installation is low friction for most users because the plugs use a standard Wi‑Fi connection and a mobile app for configuration. They are compact so they should not block adjacent sockets in many layouts. However, consider that they support 2.4 GHz networks only and may not connect to newer 5 GHz‑only routers. ⚠️

## Usage Recommendations

Place the plugs in accessible sockets so the physical outlet remains reachable for manual overrides or to check connected device ratings. Avoid connecting appliances with motors or compressors that exceed 1/6 HP, such as many air conditioners, since these may draw higher starting currents and are not suitable for these sockets. When planning automation for higher power devices, consult the appliance specification plate for current and power figures before use, and consider a dedicated solution for heavy loads. 🔌

Consider combining these plugs with other smart accessories from the same ecosystem for expanded automation and scene control, for instance pairing lights with motion sensors for timed illumination.
