The Doggy Dentists Vet Strength Pure Enzymatic Dog & Cat Toothpaste, 100g

For a regular home dental routine, The Doggy Dentists Vet Strength Pure Enzymatic toothpaste is made for brushing dogs’ and cats’ teeth, including those of puppies and kittens.

Its beef flavour is intended to make brushing more appealing, while the enzymatic formula is designed to help clean teeth and tackle the causes of bad breath.

The 100g tube brings together papain and lysozyme with green tea, propolis and liquorice root extracts. The product information describes these ingredients as supporting oral cleaning and protection, it does not provide test results to quantify their effect.

Where it shines

This toothpaste is aimed at owners who want one product for a household with dogs and cats, rather than buying separate pastes for each. The listed suitability includes puppies and kittens, and the beef flavour gives the routine a more specific taste profile than an unflavoured paste. That may suit pets who respond well to meat flavours, although acceptance will depend on the individual animal.

The enzyme blend is the main point of difference. Papain and lysozyme are included in a formula intended to help break down plaque and tartar build-up, while green tea, propolis and liquorice root extracts are described as supporting the mouth’s natural defences. The toothpaste is also positioned to help freshen breath at its source, rather than simply mask odours. These are product claims, not a guarantee of a particular dental result.

You’ll like it if you want a flavoured toothpaste for routine brushing across dogs and cats, with a stated 100g size. Compared with a basic paste focused mainly on flavour, this one puts more emphasis on its enzyme blend and botanical ingredients.

What to know

This is a toothpaste for use as part of a brushing routine, not a replacement for brushing itself. The product description recommends using it three or more times per week and presents it as suitable for pets of all ages and sizes. It does not specify a brushing technique or give a measured result for plaque, tartar or breath, so those claims are best treated as intended benefits rather than guaranteed outcomes.

The beef flavour is a clear preference point. Not the best choice if your pet avoids beef-flavoured products, a different flavour may be more suitable. The listing also does not state how long one tube lasts, as that will depend on how much is used at each brushing.

Care tips

Use it regularly as part of your pet’s dental routine, following the stated frequency of at least three times per week. A practical approach is to make brushing a consistent activity, rather than relying on occasional use. The description does not give further directions for application, so avoid assuming a particular amount or method from the product details alone.

Is it worth it?

It is worth considering if you want an enzymatic, beef-flavoured toothpaste in a 100g tube for dogs and cats, including younger pets. Its appeal rests on the combination of species suitability, flavour and named active ingredients, rather than on published measurements of cleaning performance. Choose it for a routine brushing product with those features, if flavour acceptance is uncertain, that is the main factor to weigh before settling on this particular paste.
