## Description

The SUNPOW handheld pinpointer brings a practical boost to metal detecting, combining an upgraded detection chip with a compact, waterproof wand that works in varied conditions. It suits beach hunts, shallow dives and field searching where pinpointing small targets matters most. The long runtime helps you stay out longer while the simpler controls keep operation stress free.

## Key features

The pinpointer uses an improved chip that the manufacturer says increases detection depth by 50% and speeds up signal response. You can switch between audio, vibration or both, and choose one of three sensitivity levels to tune performance for gold panning, relic hunting or coin recovery. The one-button interface makes mode changes straightforward even with gloves on. Note that performance claims are per the product information from the supplier.

## Technical details

- Name: SUNPOW Pinpointer Metal Detector
- Capacity: 800 mAh
- Material: PP and fiberglass
- Colour: not specified
- Waterproof: IP68
- Weight: not specified

## Getting the most from it

Use higher sensitivity for tiny targets and lower sensitivity where there is heavy mineralisation or trash. The vibration mode is useful when you need a silent alert while in a group, while combined audio and vibration gives clear confirmation in noisy environments. Remember that very deep targets or large pieces of iron may trigger strong signals even at lower sensitivity levels.

## Care & maintenance

Rinse the wand with fresh water after saltwater use and dry the battery cap threads before storage. The construction tolerates wide temperatures from the stated range, but avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat or abrasive impacts. Regularly check seals for debris to keep the IP68 rating reliable.

## Who it’s for

It’s a good fit if you want a compact, rechargeable pinpointer that handles wet conditions and extended sessions. It suits hobbyists who value run time and simplicity, and anyone who needs a durable tool for beach and shallow dive detecting.
