SPRINGSPIRIT Waterproof Travel Cot Mattress Protector (89x38cm)
Product description
What it is
The SPRINGSPIRIT Waterproof Travel Cot Mattress Protector is a fitted, 89x38cm cover designed for travel and carry cots. It combines a plush, quilted surface with a hidden waterproof layer to protect mattresses from leaks and stains, while remaining soft against baby skin.
How it helps
On the move, accidents happen. This protector offers a reliable waterproof barrier thanks to a premium TPU membrane, yet is quiet enough to avoid disturbing sleep. The quilted layering keeps the surface comfortable and gentle, which matters for little ones with sensitive skin.
What stands out
On paper, the standout features are the non-exposed waterproof core, the 10cm deep elasticated skirt for a snug fit, and the fabric’s breathability. The unit is designed to fit standard travel cot mattresses 89x38cm and stays in place without wrinkling, so you’re less likely to wake a fussy sleeper.
Who it’s for
This product is suited to parents and carers who travel or use carry cots at home and want a dependable, softly padded cover that resists spills. If you prioritise a quiet night’s sleep and easy maintenance, this protector ticks several practical boxes.
When it makes sense to buy
Consider it if you need a practical, durable cover for regular use with a small cot mattress. It can be a sensible addition to travel gear or nursery essentials when you want to simplify laundry with a single washable layer.
When it may not be the best choice
If you’re after a thicker, more heavy-duty mattress layer, or if your cot mattress isn’t 89x38cm, this particular protector may not be the perfect fit. Also, heavy spills or stains might require a more robust cleaning routine beyond a standard wash.
What to check before buying
- Confirm the mattress size is exactly 89x38cm to ensure a snug fit.
- Look for the 40°C wash label to ensure you can clean without degrading the quilted surface.
- Consider how often you expect to use it, frequent travel can benefit from the quick-dry nature.
Practical use and comparisons
In everyday use, you’ll notice the balance between softness and protection. It’s not a bulky bedding upgrade, but it offers a quiet, breathable surface that’s better for sensitive skin than some non-quilted waterproof options. If you already have a basic fitted sheet, this adds a dedicated waterproof layer without a crinkly feel. For ongoing protection, you might compare it to plain waterproof sheets that can feel noisy or stiff, this protector aims to be subtler and more comfortable.
FAQ
- How does the waterproof layer feel to touch? It is designed to be smooth and non-irritating, with the waterproof core quilted into the middle.
- Can it be machine washed with other baby textiles? Yes, at 40°C, tumble drying isn’t specified, so air or low heat is usually recommended to maintain softness.
- Will it fit over thicker mattresses? It’s tailored for 89x38cm mattresses, a thicker pad could affect the fit and should be tested in advance.
Final thoughts
