SPRINGSPIRIT Waterproof Pram & Moses Basket Mattress Protector (77x30cm) – Ultra Soft Quilted Carry Cot Cover
Product description
What it is
This SPRINGSPIRIT protector is a waterproof fitted sheet designed for UK prams and Moses baskets measuring 77x30cm. It combines a soft quilted microfibre top with a TPU waterproof layer, built to shield the carry cot mattress from nappies, spills and everyday messes while on the move.
The need it addresses
For on-the-go parents, naps and outings can bring unpredictable little accidents. The protector aims to keep the pram mattress clean and fresh, reducing the need for frequent full mattress changes and making post-walk tidy-ups easier.
How it feels in use
On the surface, the quilted microfibre top adds a plush feel that can help your newborn settle. The material is described as breathable and noiseless, which matters for sleep quality, since crinkly sounds can wake a resting baby.
Fit and practicality
The deep elasticated skirt is designed to hold the cover securely in place, avoiding slips or bunching. It’s sized specifically for standard UK pram carry cots and larger Moses baskets at 77x30cm, which helps prevent unintended movement during use.
Cleaning and care
The protector is machine washable at 40°C and quick-drying, offering a practical option for families who want a spare ready after outdoor trips. This means you can swap in a freshly cleaned protector without long downtime.
Pros and what stands out
- Waterproof TPU layer provides protection from leaks and spills, helping to keep the mattress hygienic between washes.
- Soft, quilted top adds comfort for naps without sacrificing protection.
- Breathable and quiet design aims to support undisturbed sleep.
- Snug fit thanks to the deep elasticated skirt that suits 77x30cm carry cots and Moses baskets.
- Practical cleaning routine with easy machine wash and quick dry.
Limitations and caveats
- The description notes “breathable” and “noiseless” design, but the degree of noise reduction and air permeability isn’t quantified. If you prioritise ultra-light protection or a completely silent layer in very noisy environments, consider how this aligns with your needs.
- It is sized for 77x30cm cots, if your carry cot or Moses basket differs in dimensions, it may not fit perfectly.
- It’s a single-cover option, if you require multiple layers or different textures for sensitivity reasons, you might want alternative options.
Who this is for
If you’re a parent or carer who wants a practical, washable, and spot-clean friendly mattress cover for standard UK carry cots or Moses baskets, this protector offers a sensible balance of protection and comfort, especially for everyday use on walks and short trips.
Who it’s not ideal for
If your priority is a high-alignment solution for non-standard sizes or you expect a heavy-duty, ultra-thick protector, this option might feel limited due to its specific 77x30cm sizing and quilted profile.
When it makes sense to buy
Consider this protector when you value ease of cleaning, a soft sleeping surface, and reliable protection from common messes during daytime use or light travel with a newborn.
When to consider alternatives
If you need a different size, a non-quilted feel, or a more robust waterproof layer, it may be worth exploring other formats or dimensions that better match your exact carry cot or Moses basket.
Quick checks before purchasing
- Confirm your carry cot or Moses basket is close to 77x30cm in footprint.
- Consider whether a quilted top aligns with your infant’s comfort preferences.
- Plan for at least one additional protector for quick swaps after outdoor use.
Practical use example
Imagine a weekend stroll with a sleepy baby: you swap the protector between outings, it keeps the mattress clean after a spill, and you can toss it in the washing machine as soon as you’re home. The elastic skirt helps it stay put as the baby stirs or shifts position.
