SONGMICS LTB741G01 2×30 L dual-compartment kitchen pedal bin in slate grey

A kitchen bin sounds like a small decision—until you’re trying to keep smells contained and bags tidy while you’re juggling cooking, washing up and, honestly, hands that rarely feel clean. The SONGMICS LTB741G01 is a dual-compartment pedal bin designed for waste sorting, with a soft-close lid and removable inner buckets.

On paper, it ticks several practical boxes: you can open it hands-free using the pedal, it closes quietly, and the inner buckets are meant to make emptying and cleaning less of a chore. Still, it’s worth considering your space and how you prefer to manage liners before committing.

The essentials

This model is a kitchen pedal rubbish bin with two compartments (2 × 30 L). Instead of one big bin, the split design is built around separating waste—useful if you recycle certain items or simply want an easier “bins-with-purpose” setup in the kitchen.

It’s made from steel, which generally suits everyday domestic use where a bin gets knocked, brushed past, and cleaned on a regular basis. The lid is soft-close, aimed at preventing the usual loud drop when you shut a bin lid.

What to know about opening and day-to-day use

There are two ways to open it. You can open the bin with a simple step on the pedal, without touching it with your hands. If you want the lid to stay open, you step to open it, release the pedal, then lift the lid manually up to 90°.

This is the kind of detail that matters when you’re cooking: you can toss something in with your foot, then lift the lid higher if you’re feeding in bulk waste or trying to manage a bag replacement. It’s not perfect in every kitchen—if you dislike manual lid lifting or you rarely need the “lid open” mode, you may find its extra steps slightly unnecessary.
