## Description

This shoulder rig offers steadier handheld and shoulder-mounted shooting for DSLR and camcorder setups, improving comfort during longer shoots and first person perspective shots. It works well for run-and-gun filmmaking where added stability and modularity matter, and it integrates with Arca-style plates according to the manufacturer.

## Key Points

The kit is built to increase stability and reduce operator fatigue through ergonomic contact points and an adjustable counterbalance. It includes dual handles and a shoulder pad with back support made from highly elastic materials that follow the shoulder curve for more comfortable carrying. The rig features **15mm rods** for standard accessory mounting and a one-knob lockable multi-position mechanism that allows quick changes to the centre of gravity and fast assembly and disassembly.

A top plate uses the **Quick Release for Arca-Swiss** specification so a camera with a matching plate slides in and out for swift transitions between shoulder use and tripod mounting. The design also exposes multiple threaded mounting points for accessory expansion, which suits setups that add follow focus units or external monitors. 🎥

## Technical Specifications

- Name: **SMALLRIG Shoulder Rig Kit (Classic Version) 4480**
- Rod size: 15mm
- Configuration: Dual handles, shoulder mount with back support
- Quick release: Arca-Swiss compatible top plate
- Threaded holes: 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 plus 1/4"-20 positioning holes

## Usage Recommendations

Use the kit when you need to move quickly between handheld and shoulder setups, for example during documentary shoots, event coverage, or gimbal-free cinematic takes. Adjust the multi-position lock to shift the centre of gravity forward or back so the camera balances better on the shoulder, and rotate the handles up to 360 degrees to find the most natural grip angle. Consider adding a dedicated follow focus or external monitor on the 15mm rods for smoother operation and better framing. ⚙️

Keep in mind that while the shoulder pad and back support are elastic and ergonomic according to the manufacturer, heavier camera and lens combinations may still require additional counterweights for long handheld periods. 🛠️
