Product description

This silicone door bottom strip from Beicarin reduces drafts and blocks dust, noise, water and small insects while cushioning the base of sliding glass doors, aluminium windows and furniture edges. With an 8 m length and 35 mm width it is suitable for long runs along doors and window sills to improve weatherproofing and reduce impact damage.

Key Points

Applied along the lower edge, the strip acts as a weather and sound barrier and also serves as a soft bumper to prevent chips or cracks from door contact. The self-adhesive backing is designed to stick firmly to clean surfaces and keep the seal in place for prolonged use, according to the manufacturer. Consider that adhesion improves if the surface is dry and free of dust, and warm conditions help the adhesive set more quickly.

Technical Specifications

  • Name: Beicarin Silicone Seal Door Strip Bottom
  • Length: 8 m (approximately 26 ft)
  • Width: 35 mm
  • Adhesive backing width: 15 mm
  • Suitable gap range: suitable for gaps up to roughly 0–63/80 inches

Usage Recommendations

Before fitting, clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and grease, then measure and trim the strip to length. Peel the protective paper from the adhesive and press the strip firmly onto the surface for a continuous seal. If ambient temperatures are low, warming the adhesive with a hair dryer helps the tape bond more effectively. Allow up to 24 hours before heavy use to ensure strong adhesion.

Benefits

The silicone material is non-toxic and flexible, which makes the strip resistant to sun and rain while maintaining elasticity over time, so it performs as a weatherproof and insect-proof barrier. It also provides noise reduction and a simple way to prevent draughts and water ingress around the bottom of doors and windows. A minor limitation is that the adhesive may not bond well to very rough or dirty surfaces and frequent opening of the door within the first 24 hours after installation is not recommended.
