Shark HZ500UK corded stick vacuum 450W
Product description
A Shark corded stick vacuum cleaner is a practical choice when you want reliable cleaning power without relying on batteries, and this HZ500UK model is built around hair management and sealed allergen capture. With Anti Hair Wrap technology, the brush-roll is designed to help remove hair as you clean, which can make daily vacuuming feel less like a chore. The DuoClean floorhead also switches performance between carpets and hard floors, while LED headlights help you spot hidden dust and pet hair for more thorough passes. 🟣
The essentials
The Shark HZ500UK is a corded stick vacuum cleaner that aims to simplify home cleaning with features that address common frustrations. The Anti Hair Wrap system is designed to remove hair from the brush-roll as you clean, helping with long, short and pet hair. If you regularly find hair wrapped around a standard roller, this approach can save time on maintenance between cleans. 🌿
You also get a DuoClean floorhead with 2 motorised brush-rolls in one head, so it can glide between carpets and hard floors rather than forcing you to swap tools. LED headlights illuminate dust and pet hair while you move across the floor, which is useful in low light areas like under dining chairs or along skirting boards. 🧹
For awkward areas, the Flexology wand bends so you can reach under furniture without constantly changing your position. It also folds down for compact, freestanding storage, which is handy if you want to keep the vacuum accessible. 🪑
As a bonus, the vacuum transforms into a handheld mode for quick on the spot jobs, including stairs and soft furnishings. You also have a crevice tool and a multi surface tool included, so detail cleaning is straightforward when crumbs, dust and pet messes collect in corners.

What stands out
What you’ll notice most is how the system tackles hair and allergen release concerns in normal day to day use. The Anti Hair Wrap design is intended to remove hair from the brush-roll as you clean, rather than leaving it to build up around the roller. That matters if you live with pets or you deal with longer hair strands that tend to snag.
On the air quality side, the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal is designed to capture 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum rather than releasing them back into the air. The percentage is based on IEC standard 62885-2 Cl. 5.14 at 0.3 to 10 microns, which provides a measurable reference point for its performance claim. If you or your household prefers a more controlled cleaning flow, the sealed approach can be reassuring. 🤲
The included LED headlights add a practical layer, because they make it easier to see what you’ve missed, especially fine dust and pet hair that can hide in pile or along edges. When you’re switching between carpet and hard flooring, the DuoClean floorhead is designed to glide across surfaces using two motorised brush-rolls in one head. You can focus on consistent passes instead of changing floorheads every time.
There is also a clear flexibility in how you clean the home. The Flexology wand bends to reach anywhere, and it folds down for compact, freestanding storage when you’re finished. In handheld mode, you can use the included precision nozzle for on-the-spot cleaning, and the other attachments for stairs and soft furnishings when you want targeted results without dragging the main head across delicate areas.
Who it’s for
It’s a good fit if you want a corded stick vacuum with strong day to day convenience, plus features aimed at pet hair and hair tangles. It suits households that benefit from a sealed approach to dust and allergens, as well as anyone who values visible cleaning help from LED headlights while vacuuming. You’ll likely like it if you clean carpets and hard floors in the same session and want fewer interruptions.
It might not be the best choice if you specifically need battery powered cordless operation, because this model is corded and uses a 10 m power lead. It also may not suit you if you prefer the lightest possible vacuum for long carries around the home, as the in-use weight is listed at 3.9 kg. If most of your cleaning is focused on floors, stairs, and quick handheld details, the included attachments and flexing wand make it a sensible everyday tool.
