M&SENSE Citronella Outdoor Candles: Peppermint Lemongrass Scent, 19.4 oz
Product description
What it is
A citronella outdoor candle from M&SENSE designed to enhance evenings outside with a pleasant, citrus-forward fragrance. It’s built to burn up to 120 hours using 100% natural soy wax and a lead-free cotton wick, all housed in a sturdy tin for portability.
Why it matters
If you’re looking to keep bugs at bay while enjoying outdoor spaces, this candle combines smoke-free combustion with a refreshing blend of essential oils. The five herbal oils—eucalyptus, peppermint, lemongrass, verbena, rose and citronella—contribute to a clean scent profile that’s meant to be safe for people, pets and the environment.
How it performs in real life
On the surface, the design supports easy transport and outdoor use, thanks to the protective tin and adjustable carry handle. The claim of up to 120 hours burn time hinges on usage conditions, which is useful to estimate for longer barbecues or camping trips. The smokeless burn is a notable benefit for outdoor gatherings where smoke might be unwelcome.
Best use cases
It suits patios, backyards, porches, camping trips and casual outdoor evenings where you want a light citrus-citronella ambience rather than a heavy fragrance. If you prioritise a low-maintenance, odour-friendly option for warm-weather days, this candle aligns with those needs.
What to consider before buying
- The fragrance is a blend of several oils, if you have scent sensitivities or allergies, consider testing a small area first.
- Burn time is an estimate, wind, candle angle and outdoor temperature can shorten it. Expect real-world performance to vary.
- The packaging is durable for travel, but the tin’s lid and handle require care to avoid dents during packing.
- For larger gatherings or longer events, you may want to assess how multiple units would cover the space effectively.
Who it’s for
This candle is a pragmatic option for outdoor enthusiasts who want a clean-burning citronella light without harsh smoke, ideal for small to medium gatherings on patios or campsites. It’s a sensible pick if you value eco-friendly ingredients and a low-odour experience.
Who it isn’t for
If you’re after a strong, complex fragrance or a high-intensity insect repellent, this product may not suit those expectations given its soft-scent profile and emphasis on a pleasant ambient aroma rather than heavy efficacy claims.
When it makes sense to buy
Choose it for regular outdoor evenings in mild conditions, or as a portable option for occasional camping. The combination of natural wax, safe ingredients and a practical tin can offer reliable, family-friendly use.
Before you buy
Check that you’re comfortable with a citrus-herbal scent rather than a single-note citronella. Consider how many units you’d need to create the ambience you want, and assess storage space for the tin when not in use.
Practical comparison
If you’re weighing options, this style sits between entry-level recreational candles and more premium outdoor scents that might offer stronger projection or longer burn times. It’s a sensible middle ground for casual outdoor enjoyment where ease of use and responsible ingredients matter.
What you’ll notice in use
A gentle, refreshing aroma when lit, and a clean burn that reduces smoke exposure. The adjustable handle makes it easy to move or hang if you’re reorganising an outdoor seating area.
Final thought
Is it worth it? It depends on how you value a clean, eco-conscious outdoor candle with a portable tin and a balanced fragrance. If a light, citrusy ambience and family-friendly use are priorities, it’s worth considering.
