## Description

This aluminium M.2 NVMe heatsink from Sabrent fits into the PlayStation 5 expansion slot to improve SSD cooling and maintain performance during extended play. It replaces the PS5’s native cover with a larger cooler that uses the console’s airflow to help keep temperatures lower, making it useful for users adding high-performance NVMe drives to their console.

## Key Points

The heatsink is machined from high-quality CNC aluminium and follows a sandwich-style design that applies even pressure across the SSD for consistent heat transfer. This approach aims to move heat away from the drive into the metal body so that the PS5’s internal fan can dissipate it more effectively. Installation is intended to be straightforward, and the package includes a thermal silicone pad, screws and a simple guide to assist with fitting. 🔧

Sabrent’s design replaces the original PS5 expansion cover rather than sitting above it. As a result, the cooler is larger and sits directly over the SSD which, according to the manufacturer, improves thermal contact and cooling performance. Consider that actual temperature reductions will vary with SSD model and ambient conditions, and it may not produce the same results with every third-party drive. ❄️

## Technical Specifications

- Name: **SABRENT SB-PSHS**
- Material: Aluminium CNC
- Compatibility: PlayStation 5 expansion slot, M.2 NVMe SSD form factor
- Included: Thermal silicone pad, screws, installation guide
- Design: Sandwich-style pressure distribution for even heat transfer

## Usage Recommendations

Follow the included guide for correct placement of the thermal pad and secure mounting of the heatsink to ensure good contact with the SSD. When handling the SSD and heatsink, work on a static-free surface and avoid touching contacts. Also check that the drive you plan to install conforms to the PS5 size and connector specifications since some third-party drives or heatsinks with non-standard dimensions may not fit. 🎮

For systems that run long gaming sessions or for SSDs that are known to run warm under sustained load, using a larger aluminium cooler that integrates with the console’s airflow can reduce thermal throttling risk. Keep the PS5’s vents clear and maintain room airflow for best results.
