## Description

This wet and dry electric shaver from Philips aims to deliver a close, comfortable shave even on dense stubble, combining advanced cutting elements with adaptive sensing for daily grooming and occasional five-day beards. It suits users who want a precise, skin-friendly shave with added trimming tools for nose and beard maintenance.

## Key Points

The shaver uses rotating NanoTech DualPrecision blades that cut hairs in any direction and work with a Lift & Cut system to get very close to the skin, according to the manufacturer. An Ultraflex suspension helps the heads follow facial contours so hair is captured in tricky areas such as the neck and upper lip. The Hydro SkinGlide coating reduces friction, which can make passes smoother and less irritating for sensitive skin. A Power Adapt sensor reads hair density 500 times per second and adjusts motor power accordingly, aiming for consistent performance.

## Technical Specifications

- Name: **Philips Series 9000 Prestige SP9885/35**
- Motor: Top-Spin digital motor, rated by Philips for long life
- Blade system: NanoTech DualPrecision rotating blades with Lift & Cut
- Coating: Hydro SkinGlide anti-friction coating
- Suspension: Ultraflex suspension system
- Accessories included: nose trimmer, beard styler, Qi charging pad, quick-clean capsule (cartridge included)

## Benefits

Shaving feels more controlled thanks to power adjustments that react to beard density, which reduces the number of passes needed. The combination of precision blades and the lifting action can help achieve a closer finish when required, and the Hydro SkinGlide surface aims to lower skin irritation during wet or dry use. The included accessories extend the device’s usefulness beyond clean shaves and allow grooming of nostril hair and shaping of facial hair. According to the manufacturer, both motor and battery have been designed for longevity and the steel blades are self-sharpening for around two years of effective use.

## Usage Recommendations

For a smooth wet shave, apply a shaving foam or gel and move the shaver in small circular motions over the skin. When using the trimmer or nose tool, work slowly and check progress frequently to avoid over-trimming. The quick-clean capsule offers a convenient way to refresh the cutting elements between full cleans, although regular rinsing under water after use helps maintain hygiene. Consider that, as with many rotary systems, very short, flat-lying hairs may require slightly different technique than foil shavers and that replacement cartridges and long-term consumables follow the manufacturer’s guidance.
