What you’ll notice day to day
The ball feels solid from the first over, with a firm seam that helps bowlers control swing and spinners get purchase. According to the manufacturer, the hand-crafted finish improves longevity compared with lower quality alternatives, though natural leather will still need some care to avoid hardening or cracking. It holds its shape well in outdoor play and is suited to grass wickets and net practice.
Getting the most from it
Keep the ball dry when not in use and rub it with a small amount of leather conditioner occasionally to maintain suppleness. It’s worth rotating a small set of balls during heavy training to spread wear. You’ll like it if you value a traditional leather feel and straightforward maintenance, but bear in mind leather balls require a little more attention than synthetic alternatives.
