## Description

## What it is
The Moleskine Classic Notebook in Myrtle Green is a soft-cover, XL-sized notebook designed for writing with plain (unruled) pages. It keeps the familiar Moleskine ethos—durable yet lightweight, ready to travel in a bag or on a desk. With 192 ivory-coloured pages and a plain layout, it’s aimed at those who prefer freeform writing, sketching, or note-taking without lines to constrain ideas.

## Why it might matter to you
On paper, it offers a straightforward canvas for daily jotting, planning, or drafting. The 180° opening makes it easy to lay flat, which is handy when you’re trying to capture quick thoughts mid-journey. The elastic closure helps keep contents secure, and the internal pocket at the back provides a simple place for loose papers or receipts. If you’re someone who values a recognised brand with a clean, classic aesthetic, this notebook aligns with a timeless, understated look.

## The best and the not-so-best
What stands out is the absence of ruled lines, which can be liberating for sketches or freehand notes, and the compact features that travel well. The brand’s signature touches remain—an inner story print, a lightweight structure, and the “In case of loss” notice for contact details on the back cover. However, plain pages aren’t ideal if you mainly take tight, ruled notes or need consistent margins for dense lists. For those who frequently need to attach receipts or documents, the back pocket is useful, but it isn’t a full organiser system.

## Who it’s for
This notebook suits students, professionals, artists, or journalling enthusiasts who prefer blank pages and a durable, portable companion. It’s especially apt if you want a high-quality blank canvas for sketches, mind-maps, or meeting notes where the layout should not dictate content.

## Who it isn’t for
If you rely on ruled lines for neat handwriting or structured notes, you may find plain pages disruptive. Likewise, if you need a larger internal paper count or a hard cover for rugged environments, you might prefer a different build or format.

## When it makes sense to buy
It makes sense when you prize a reputable brand with a classic design and you want blank pages for freeform writing or drawing. The soft cover keeps things light and approachable, while the XL size offers generous space without becoming unwieldy. Consider this option if you value a consistent writing surface and a compact, well-pocketed notebook for everyday use.

## When you might want to pause
If you’re shopping on a tight budget or require a more robust, hard-wearing cover, or if you usually work heavily with margins and ruled layouts, you might want to explore alternatives that better meet those needs.

## What to check before you buy
- Confirm the page format is plain (unruled) and assess whether you want ivory paper for reduced glare.
- Consider how the 19 x 25 cm size fits into your daily carry or desk space.
- Think about how you’ll use the back pocket and whether you need additional organisational features.
- Look for the elastic closure and bookmark—these small details help keep your notes secure and easy to navigate.

## Practical use case
Imagine sketching quick ideas during a coffee break, then flipping the notebook to jot a few bullet points for a meeting. The blank pages invite creativity, while the soft cover keeps the notebook light enough to carry in a slim bag. It’s not a fountain-pen heavyweight, but it behaves well with everyday writing tools and lighter sketching.

## How it compares to alternatives
If you’re choosing between blank and ruled options, plain pages give you undirected space, which is ideal for freeform ideas but less efficient for dense lists. For those who want a strong, portable brand identity and a sensible price point, this Moleskine still sits within the mid-range of premium notebooks—not the lowest cost, but with recognised durability and a classic design language.

## FAQ (brief and practical)
- Is the paper fountain-pen friendly? The book uses ivory, 70 g/m² acid-free paper, it can handle everyday ballpoint and pencil reasonably well, but heavy fountain-pen use may show some bleed or show-through.
- Does it come with extras? It includes an elastic closure, a back pocket, and a bookmark as standard features.
- Can I store loose papers in the back pocket safely? Yes, the expandable back pocket is designed for loose sheets and small documents.

## Decision time
### Is it worth it?
Worth considering if you value a lightweight, timeless notebook with blank pages and you want a recognisable quality brand in a generous XL size. It suits reviewers who prioritise simplicity, portability, and a clean aesthetic over heavy features.
