## Description

This Merino wool base layer set for men pairs a thermal top with long johns to help regulate body temperature during cold-weather activities and everyday use. The midweight option included in the pack is aimed at layering for hiking, travel and outdoor work while remaining comfortable under outer garments.

## Key Points

The set uses superfine merino wool that the manufacturer describes as 18.5 microns, which makes the fabric soft against the skin and reduces itch. It is naturally odour resistant and wicks moisture away from the body, so garments stay fresher during multi-day use or active sessions. 🧭

A midweight top and matching long johns at 250 g/m² are supplied in the package along with a pair of hiking socks made from merino wool, offered as a complimentary extra. The fabric breathes well, and the natural thermal regulation of merino helps keep warmth when it is cold and releases heat as activity increases. 🏔️

Consider that the garments perform best with gentle care. The manufacturer recommends hand washing and drying flat to preserve fit and fibre quality, and heavier packing or very abrasive outer layers may cause more wear over time.

## Technical Specifications

- Name: **Merino.tech Merino Wool Base Layer Men Set**
- Material: 100% superfine merino wool, 18.5 micron
- Weight options: lightweight 165 g/m², midweight 250 g/m², heavyweight 320 g/m²
- Included items: long sleeve base top, long johns (midweight 250 g/m²) and merino hiking socks
- Care instructions: hand wash recommended, dry flat for best results

## Usage Recommendations

Wear the set as a first layer under a shell for alpine days, or alone under a softshell when activity levels are moderate. The midweight option supplied is a practical compromise between insulation and breathability for varied conditions. For intense aerobic exercise in warmer climates, choose the lighter 165 g/m² version where available to reduce overheating. 🏃

If you prefer frequent machine washing, consider that merino wool needs gentler cycles and low spin speeds to maintain loft and shape. The natural odour control reduces the need for daily washing, which helps extend the life of the garments when used on extended trips or multi-day hikes.
