Magic clay set with 78 colours
Product description
If you are looking for a simple way to get creative without the fuss of baking, the Ixiaoyoo air dry clay kit is a practical choice for kids and beginners. It offers 78 colours of air dry modelling clay, so children can try lots of designs, from small animals to characters, with plenty of variety 🎨. The clay is described as safe, non toxic, and designed to be easy to shape, bend and stretch, making it easier to keep projects enjoyable from start to finish.
The essentials
This air dry clay set is built around a straightforward idea, make colourful models by sculpting, then let them dry in the air. Because it does not require oven baking, it can fit more easily into home craft time and classroom sessions where you want lower setup and less waiting around for equipment. With 78 colours in the starter kit, there is room to experiment with different looks, patterns and imaginative themes. The set is also presented as a beginner friendly option for children to create model animals, characters and other handmade craft projects.
A key advantage of this kit is how the clay is described to behave. It is said to be soft and non sticky, so it is less likely to feel messy while children are learning how to mould details. It is also described as easy to shape, bend and stretch, which helps when kids are building up forms by hand rather than using complex techniques. The kit’s rich colours are designed to keep projects looking bright, and there is no mention of fading in the provided product information.
Key features
The Ixiaoyoo kit includes enough material to support multiple short projects, plus the basic tools that help children get started. The provided description says each colour comes in a small amount, with 10 g per colour, and there are 78 colours in total for variety across designs. Alongside the clay, the kit includes sculpting tools and sealed bags to help keep colours organised during use. A user manual is also included, which can be helpful when you are new to air dry clay crafts.
In terms of safety, the set is described as using natural and organic material and being non toxic. The manufacturer states that it strictly complies with ASTM and CE standards, including EN 71. It is important to note that the clay is not edible, and the product information recommends supervision and use for children over 3 years old. The kit is also described as air dry only, so it is not an oven baking clay.
Would you rather plan craft time around drying rather than heating? This kit’s air dry approach makes it easier to fit into everyday schedules, with children shaping their creations and letting them set naturally. You may still want to follow the included guidance for best results, since air drying can vary based on thickness and conditions.

What stands out
If you want a colourful starter kit where kids can shape their own models with minimal equipment, this clay set matches that approach. It is described as easy to shape, bend and stretch, which supports early sculpting skills and encourages creativity without heavy resistance. The soft, non sticky feel is also a practical detail for hands on crafting, whether at home or in a classroom setting 🙂. Since it is air dry only, there is no oven step to manage, which can simplify planning.
You’ll also like that it is framed for both classroom and home use, so it works for group activities as well as individual projects. The inclusion of moulding tools and sealed bags helps children keep different colours separated and reduces the chance of mixing during setup. It is described as suitable for making model animals and characters, along with other handicrafts, so it fits a range of creative themes. If you are buying as a present, the product information specifically mentions Christmas and birthdays as occasions.
It makes sense if you are choosing a first modelling clay kit and you want an accessible way to try a lot of colours across different designs. It might not be a great match if you are specifically looking for a clay that requires oven baking or if you need an edible craft material, as the clay is not edible by the product guidance.
