Compatibility

The M185 works with Windows PCs, Mac computers and laptops. For a straightforward setup, plug its USB receiver into the computer and start using the mouse, the wireless connection keeps your cursor control separate from the laptop's built-in touchpad. The receiver also makes the mouse easy to move between compatible computers when your working setup changes.

Everyday use

The contoured shape is designed to feel comfortable in either the right or left hand, and the compact body suits small to medium hands. That combination is useful when desk space is limited, when a desktop is already busy, or when you want to keep a mouse in a laptop bag for occasional work away from your main desk. Its modest footprint makes it easy to position alongside a laptop without taking over the workspace.

Optical tracking at 1000 DPI gives you smooth cursor movement for common tasks such as selecting text, navigating web pages and organising files. The scroll wheel moves through content line by line, which is handy for reading documents and working through longer pages. Compared with relying on a touchpad alone, a separate mouse provides a familiar way to point, click and scroll while keeping your hands on the desk.

The included AA battery is supported by a stated battery life of up to 12 months, with smart sleep mode helping to reduce power use when the mouse is idle. For a typical work session, connect the receiver, position the mouse beside the computer and use the scroll wheel to move through on-screen content without reaching for the touchpad.

When it makes sense

Choose the Logitech M185 if you want a compact wireless mouse for a Windows PC, Mac or laptop, with simple USB receiver setup and controls suited to everyday browsing and productivity. Its ambidextrous shape is a useful detail for shared desks or households where left- and right-handed users may both use the same mouse. The Grey finish includes 49% post-consumer recycled plastic, adding a material detail to a practical device for routine computer use.
