## Description

## What it is
A compact, elegant floor lamp that combines a metal frame with a white rice paper shade in an oval shape. It’s designed to slot into living rooms, bedrooms or office spaces where a soft, warm glow is desirable without harsh glare.

## Design and materials
The lamp uses a high quality metal frame paired with a rice paper shade, finished in beige. The oval silhouette offers a gentle, contemporary look that can complement a range of decor styles. The simple form means it’s unobtrusive when switched off, yet it adds a touch of calm ambience when lit.

## Lighting and ambience
The rice paper shade ensures light is distributed softly around the room, creating a warm, non-dazzling glow that’s easy on the eyes. This makes it appealing for evenings in the living room or a relaxed reading corner. It’s not a spotlight, but a diffuse light source that contributes to a cosy atmosphere rather than harsh task lighting.

## Power and practicality
The lamp features two E27 sockets, each capable of a maximum 60 watts. Bulbs are not included, so you can choose colour temperature to suit mood—from warm to cool tones. An ON/OFF footswitch adds hands-free convenience, allowing you to switch the light with a quick step.

## Space and placement
Despite its compact footprint (the base is only 8 inches long), it can fill a corner effectively. It works well in small living rooms, bedrooms, or offices, and won’t dominate the space in a way that larger floor lamps might.

## What it’s good at
If you’re after a relaxed, romantic glow without glare, this lamp is a sensible option. It’s particularly suited to living rooms and bedrooms where you want atmosphere rather than bright illumination. The two-bulb capability offers flexibility to adjust the mood by selecting different bulbs.

## Limitations and caveats
It’s not the strongest choice if you need bright, directional light for tasks like reading at a desk or detailed handiwork. Since bulbs aren’t included, you’ll need to factor in a compatible pair of E27 bulbs and their cost. The beige rice paper shade adds a natural texture, but it may be more susceptible to fingerprints or marks than harder shade materials.

## Who it’s for
This lamp suits those seeking a low-key, stylish accent with gentle lighting for living spaces, bedrooms or small offices. It’s a good fit for decorative lighting enthusiasts who value atmosphere and a calm reading nook over high-intensity light.

## Who it isn’t for
If you require strong ambient light or a lamp that doubles as a focal lighting feature, this model may feel insufficient. It’s also worth considering if you regularly reposition lighting, the fixed oval shade isn’t designed for flexible angle adjustment.

## Before you buy
Check that you’re comfortable sourcing two suitable E27 bulbs to match your preferred colour temperature. Consider the room size and existing lighting to ensure the lamp complements rather than competes with other light sources.

## How it compares (contextual, not model-specific)
This lamp sits in the mid-range for decorative floor lighting. It’s best when your aim is a steady, ambient glow rather than a high-output beacon. If you prioritise brighter, task-focused light, a lamp with a larger shade or an adjustable head may be more appropriate.

## FAQ
- Do the bulbs come with the lamp? No, bulbs are not included.
- Is the shade delicate? The rice paper shade is elegant, but handle with care to avoid marks or tears.
- Can I use different bulb temperatures? Yes, you can choose bulbs with different colour temperatures to suit mood.

## Is it worth it?
Worth considering if you value a soft, atmospheric glow and a compact footprint for small living spaces or bedrooms. It may not be the best option if you need bright, task-oriented lighting or if you expect a robust, heavy‑duty shade.
