Joomouney Cat Repellent, Solar Ultrasonic Animal Deterrent with PIR Sensor

Help discourage cats and other visiting animals from crossing a garden, patio or yard with the Joomouney Cat Repellent. Its PIR motion sensor detects movement and activates an ultrasonic deterrent alongside a flashing LED, offering a chemical-free way to make an outdoor area less inviting to passing animals.

Choose from five modes and adjust sensitivity and effective distance to suit the position and conditions of your garden. The unit is powered by its solar panel and can also be charged by USB.

Strengths

The motion-triggered design responds when an animal passes the sensor, rather than running continuously. This makes it a practical choice for areas such as a garden boundary, patio entrance or the route animals commonly take through a yard. The ultrasonic sound and flashing light work together to discourage unwanted visits without relying on chemical deterrents or causing physical harm.

The stated effective working distance is 8 metres, with a 110° effective range. Its adjustable sensitivity and distance settings, together with five operating modes, let you tailor how the device responds to the space. It is intended for deterring small animals including cats, dogs, squirrels, mice, skunks, raccoons and deer, as well as foxes and birds.

Key points

For best placement, point the unit towards the direction from which animals enter. It can be mounted on a wall or fixed into the ground, so you can position it to cover a garden approach, lawn edge or planting area. The IPX4 waterproof rating makes it suitable for outdoor use in rain.

The solar panel provides one way to power the deterrent, while USB charging offers another. A USB charging cable is included. During charging, the indicator light is red, it turns green when fully charged. For solar charging, position the panel to receive as much sunlight as possible. These power options make it easier to place the unit where it can detect movement, rather than choosing a spot solely for access to a charging point.

Tips for day-to-day use

Aim the sensor at the animal approach you want to discourage, then select a mode and adjust sensitivity to suit the location. A clear line towards that route helps the PIR sensor detect passing movement. If you move the device to protect another part of the garden, reposition it to face the new approach and set it up again for that area.

This provides a different approach from chemical sprays: it uses motion detection, ultrasonic sound and a flashing light to discourage visits. It can be used around a garden, patio, yard, farm or orchard, with the response activated by movement within the stated range. Keep the solar panel positioned for sunlight when relying on solar charging, or use USB charging as an alternative.

Is it worth it?

The Joomouney deterrent is suited to people looking for a reusable, non-chemical way to discourage animals from outdoor spaces. Its PIR activation, adjustable sensitivity, five modes and choice of solar or USB charging give you practical control over placement and operation. For a garden or patio where animals regularly pass through, it offers a straightforward way to target that route with ultrasonic sound and a flashing light, while its wall or ground mounting options help adapt the setup to the space.
