Why it’s worth it
The rug’s 4 cm high pile offers a plush feel underfoot and the padded sponge sandwich layers reduce pressure on your feet, according to the manufacturer. The underside is dotted with plastic beads to increase friction and help prevent slips, which is useful on wooden or tiled floors. There may be a slight odour or wrinkles on arrival because the rug is vacuum packed, these typically fade after airing and a few days laid flat, so bear that in mind when you first unpack it.
Everyday use
The size and neutral dark grey tone suit a range of rooms from living rooms to nurseries. You can vacuum the surface with a handheld cleaner for regular upkeep, or wash gently by hand with mild detergent and air dry in a ventilated space. Avoid direct sunlight while drying to protect the pile.
Who it’s for
It makes sense if you want a budget friendly large rug that prioritises softness and a non-slip finish for family spaces, play areas or a bedside landing. You may want to skip it if you need a washable machine-friendly mat or a very low-profile rug for a door area.
