Jaques of London Jigsaw Mat 2000-piece puzzle mat 🧩

This roll-up puzzle mat helps keep a project of up to 2,000 pieces safe and portable while freeing table space between sessions. The Jaques of London mat combines a soft Blaise Grip surface with size guide lines, making it easier to lay out pieces, roll the work securely and store the puzzle until you are ready to continue.

Key Points

The mat accepts jigsaws of various sizes with printed guide lines to help estimate layout and alignment. It is supplied with two elastic fastenings that hold the rolled mat in place and an inflatable roll tube designed to protect loose pieces inside the roll. The portable design means you can move your partly completed puzzle or stow it away without disassembling it, which saves time and reduces the risk of losing pieces.

Benefits

Using a roll-up mat like this reduces the need for a dedicated puzzle board. The textured surface helps prevent pieces from slipping, so you can leave a project on the mat overnight or longer according to the manufacturer. Because the mat rolls, it takes up little storage space and is easier to transport than rigid boards. The addition of the inflatable tube gives an extra layer of protection for loose segments and small pieces when the mat is rolled.

Usage Recommendations

Spread the mat flat on a level surface before starting to ensure the Blaise Grip surface settles evenly. Place larger border sections first to establish the outline, then fill the interior. When you need to pause, insert the inflatable roll tube gently along the length of the puzzle and roll the mat around it, keeping the pattern facing inwards to protect printed areas. Secure both elastic straps to keep the roll compact and avoid compressing the edges too tightly, as this may slightly crease flexible materials over time. Consider labelling the outside of the roll if you have several projects to avoid confusion.

A small nuance to consider is that very delicate or irregularly shaped pieces may benefit from being stored flat on a rigid backing if keeping absolutely perfect flatness is critical. According to the manufacturer, the mat is intended for convenience and portability and may not replace a permanent board for display purposes. 😊

The presentation in a Jaques gift box makes this a convenient present for puzzle enthusiasts and the compact rolled form is helpful when space is limited. 🎁🧩
