## Description

## What it is
A travel-friendly insect repellent spray from INCOGNITO, formulated with natural PMD and free from DEET. The product is Soil Association certified and designed to protect against biting insects for several hours while keeping packaging compact for trips or everyday use.

## How it works
On the basis of a plant-derived PMD (p-menthane-3,8-diol) approach, the spray aims to offer a natural alternative to traditional chemical repellents. The formula is UK-formulated and clinically tested to provide repellent protection without DEET, aligning with guidance from health organisations that recognise PMD as an effective active ingredient. Expect a citrus fragrance and a lightweight, easy-to-apply spray that can be carried in hand luggage where permitted.

## Who it’s for
If you’re seeking a DEET-free option with a natural formulation for travel or daily activities, this product targets you. It’s suitable for adults and older children, with usage directions noting care for infants by applying to clothing or exposed skin. People who prioritise plant-based ingredients, environmental considerations, and a compact travel size may find it a good fit.

## What stands out (pros)
- 100% natural, DEET-free formula with plant-based PMD.
- Soil Association certification signals a trusted natural-cert approach.
- Travel-friendly 100 ml size and citrus scent, practical for packing and everyday use.
- Claimed protection duration up to 7 hours, with a specific note on protection against disease-carrying mosquitoes.
- Formulated in the UK and clinically tested for effective repellent action.

## What may give you pause (cons)
- Being a natural product, the scent and texture may feel different from synthetic options, and effectiveness can vary with environment and individual skin chemistry.
- Directions indicate eye irritation risk and possible allergic reactions, real-world results depend on proper application and re-application as needed.
- While the product is DEET-free, some users may still seek longer-lasting protection or broader insect coverage depending on travel scenarios.

## When it makes sense to buy
If you prioritise a DEET-free, plant-based option with conscious sourcing and a travel form factor, and you’re comfortable with re-application as needed, this spray can be a reasonable choice for casual outdoor activities, holidays, or routine outdoor tasks.

## When it might not be the best fit
If you need ultra-long protection or are in high-risk mosquito exposure environments, you may want to consider alternatives with different efficacy profiles or longer duration options. It’s also sensible to test a small skin patch first, given the potential for irritation or sensitivity.

## What to check before buying
- Confirm suitability for your skin type and any sensitivities, especially if using around infants or during pregnancy.
- Consider the environmental impact and certification, which may matter for eco-conscious purchases.
- Review the re-application needs for your planned activity and climate, as natural formulations can require more frequent re-application in sweaty or water-exposed conditions.

## Practical use case
Imagine a weekend hike where you’re exposed to mosquitos near woodland edges. A quick spray on exposed skin or clothing, followed by a gentle rub-in, offers immediate protection and a light citrus aroma that doesn’t overwhelm. You re-apply as the day progresses or after sweating, aligning with typical outdoor routines.

## Is it worth it?
A solid pick if you prioritise a natural, DEET-free option and value a compact travel-size product, it may be less ideal if you require extended protection in harsh outdoor conditions or heavy insect exposure.

## FAQ (quick answers)
- Is it suitable for children? It can be used for infants by applying to clothing or exposed skin in small amounts, follow the age guidance in the directions.
- How long does protection last? The product claims up to 7 hours of protection in total, with specific mentions of certain mosquitoes.
- Are there any safety concerns? The formulation notes potential eye irritation and possible allergic reactions, read the label and test cautiously.
