## Description

## What it is
The hygger 35W Fish Tank LED Light is a full‑spectrum aquarium light designed to support both fish and aquatic plants. Built with a higher number of LED chips and a stronger output than many basics, it aims to deliver bright, even illumination while keeping heat generation low.

## What it solves
For hobbyists looking to simulate natural day‑night cycles and promote photosynthesis in plants, this lamp offers a 24/7 mode that cycles from sunrise warmth to a bright noon glow and a night‑time blue starry effect. The RGB/colour mix options and adjustable brightness give you flexibility to tailor the look of your tank and support plant growth without swapping lighting components.

## What stands out
On paper, the combination of 112 LEDs (73 white, 3 red, 4 green, 4 blue, 28 RGB) across a 60–75 cm tank suggests broad coverage and colour versatility. The aluminium housing promises durability and better heat dissipation, while the retractable arc brackets accommodate different tank widths and simplify installation.

## What may be less convincing
If you prioritise a plug‑and‑play calm lighting with minimal setup, the DIY mode and custom timing may feel a bit involved. Also, while the 24/7 cycle is handy, some aquarists may want to rely on their own programming or integrated controllers, which could require additional configuration.

## Who this is for
- Aquarists wanting a single light that covers mid‑size tanks and supports both fish display and plant growth.
- Keepers who like to vary the look across day parts and experiment with colour temperatures.
- Those who value a sturdy, visually unobtrusive black aluminium fixture that blends with modern tanks.

## Who it’s not ideal for
- If you favour ultra‑simple lighting with almost zero setup or presets, you might find the DIY and timer features more than you need.
- If your tank is outside the 60–75 cm range, you’ll want to check suitability or consider another size.

## When it makes sense to buy
- You want a robust, all‑in‑one lighting solution that supports both plant growth and vivid tank aesthetics.
- You appreciate a natural day‑night simulation and the option to customise colours and brightness.
- You value heat efficiency and a design that looks at home in a modern setup.

## When to pause
- If you require an off‑the‑shelf light with minimal tinkering and fewer modes, this may feel more feature‑rich than necessary.
- If you need a light for tanks outside the specified length, confirm compatibility to avoid overhang or insufficient coverage.

## What to check before buying
- Confirm the exact tank length and whether the brackets extend enough for your setup.
- Consider how you’ll use the 10‑level brightness and DIY colour options in practice—whether you’ll rely on presets or design your own scenes.
- Think about heat in your specific enclosure, even with higher efficiency, longer operation may heat the water marginally.

## Practical usage example
Imagine an afternoon scene with warm white light at moderate brightness to simulate natural daylight, followed by a soft blue night glow and a dash of red/green for plant highlights. With the 24/7 mode, you can let the tank transition gradually through day parts, creating a calming backdrop that still supports plant photosynthesis during peak hours.

## FAQ
- How many LEDs are in the unit and how is coverage rated? It uses 112 LEDs across white, red, green, blue and RGB channels to illuminate a 60–75 cm tank.
- Can I adjust brightness and colours easily? Yes, there are 10 brightness levels and multiple colour options, with a DIY mode for custom scenes.
- Is installation difficult? The fixture uses extendable brackets and a simple mounting approach, but you may want a moment to align angles for full tank coverage.

## Decision
### Is it worth it?
Worth considering if you want a mid‑size tank light with flexible colour control and a natural day‑night cycle, especially for planted tanks. It may not be the best fit if you prefer ultra‑simple, minimal‑setup lighting or if your tank length falls outside the recommended range.
