## Description

## What it is
The Gritin Neck Reading Light is a rechargeable, hands-free light designed to sit around the neck for targeted, tilt-able illumination while you read in bed, in the car, or while doing crafts. It’s pitched as a practical, low-fuss solution for anyone who wants a focused beam without disturbing a partner or waking others.

## How it works
On the device you’ll find three colour temperatures to choose from: amber (1800K), warm white (3400K) and white (6000K). A quick short press switches between these modes, while a long press unlocks stepless dimming so you can dial brightness from about 10% up to 100%. Importantly, it remembers your last brightness and colour when you switch off and back on.

## Battery and charging
The light is powered by a built-in 1000mAh battery and recharges via USB-C. A full charge typically takes 2–3 hours and can deliver anywhere from 8 to 80 hours of light, depending on brightness settings. There’s also a small 4-LED indicator to help you gauge remaining power at a glance.

## Comfort and design
The light uses anti-glare LED beads to keep the output soft, steady, and flicker-free for extended reading sessions. The neck is gently curved to sit comfortably, and the exterior silicone finish is soft to the touch. The flexible arm can be rotated 360° and bent into various shapes to align with your preferred reading angle. The beam is narrow, which helps keep light localised and reduces disturbance to a sleeping partner.

## Practical use cases
This compact, foldable neck lamp is easy to carry for night-time reading in bed, long journeys by car, or travel. It also suits hobbies that require close, steady illumination such as sewing, knitting or mending. The design aims to be discreet enough to wear without drawing attention, and practical enough to stay in place as you move.

## What to know before buying
If you prioritise flexibility, the 360° arm and multiple colour temperatures are useful features. However, if you need extremely bright, room-wide illumination or a model with a more rigid head for very precise work, this neck light may feel limited. The longest battery life is contingent on choosing lower brightness levels, at higher settings, expect noticeably shorter run times. Consider where you’ll use it most and whether hands-free, localized light suits that context.

## Who it’s for
This light is well suited to readers who want to avoid disturbing a partner, travellers seeking compact personal lighting, and hobbyists who benefit from a focused beam without needing a bulky setup. It can be a thoughtful gift for someone who travels frequently or enjoys late-night crafts.

## Who it isn’t ideal for
If you need bright, room-filling illumination or a bigger, more feature-rich light, you might prefer alternatives with broader light coverage or more aggressive battery life. It’s also worth noting that comfort and fit can vary with neck size and wearing preferences, if you’re sensitive to wearing anything around the neck for extended periods, this may take some getting used to.

## When it makes sense to buy
If you want hands-free, adjustable lighting for reading in bed or on the go, and you value battery life with a reasonable charging time, the Gritin neck light offers a practical balance of flexibility and portability. The memory function adds convenience if you have a preferred brightness/colour setup.

## What to check before purchase
- Confirm you’ll mainly use it for close-up tasks and reading rather than room-wide lighting.
- Check if the 360° arm and silicone finish align with your comfort expectations.
- Consider where you’ll store or travel with it, its foldable design is a plus for portability.
- Decide whether you need the highest brightness available or if lower settings will suffice for your use.

## Practical usage example
Imagine finishing a late-night chapter without waking a partner. You place the neck light around your shoulders, orient the beam just over the page, and set it to a warm white at a gentle level. If you drift to a different page or start reading in a different mood, you simply adjust brightness or switch temperature with a tap, and the light remains in the preferred state when you resume.

## FAQ (where data allows)
- How long does the battery last on a typical reading setting? The run time varies between 8 and 80 hours depending on brightness, higher settings will drain the battery quicker.
- Can the light be worn for extended periods without discomfort? The ergonomic neck design aims to fit the neck area, but personal comfort may vary with wear time.
- Does the light flicker? The design specifies anti-glare, steady, flicker-free output for a comfortable reading experience.

## Final verdict
Final verdict: A practical, compact, hands-free option for nightly reading and close-up tasks. It’s not the brightest or the most feature-rich light, but it balances portability with customisation and eye-friendly output. It suits readers and hobbyists who value a personal, adjustable beam and a long but realistically variable battery life. If you need strong room lighting or a larger head for more distant tasks, this may not be the best fit.
