## Description

If your outdoor gas grill or griddle sits outside between cooks, the cover takes the hits: rain, sun, wind and all the little bits that get blown around. The GrillTough Heavy Duty Griddle Cover 36 Inch is built for that job, with a waterproof outer layer and fabric designed to resist fading from UV. It’s not a miracle shield for every scenario, but for everyday protection in the UK climate it makes a lot of sense.

On paper, this is a heavy-duty approach: polyester with a waterproof vinyl coating, plus fastening straps meant to keep the cover in place when conditions turn blustery. If you want something sturdier than the thin, flimsy covers that can flap and wear out quickly, this one is aimed in that direction.

## The essentials
This 36 inch griddle cover is designed to protect a gas grill/griddle against weather and daily exposure. The key promise is straightforward: waterproof protection with UV and fade resistance, so it helps keep the cooking surface sheltered from rain and reduced sun-related wear over time. It also flags a practical concern people run into with outdoor covers—things tearing, slipping, or cracking in colder weather—then tackles it with heavier materials and a fastening system.

The adjustable straps are a notable part of the design. Covers that just rely on friction can shift in wind, which is when they start rubbing, flapping, and eventually failing. With straps, you’re more likely to get that snug fit feeling.

## What it’s made to handle
The cover is described as having premium fade-resistant polyester fabric and a waterproof vinyl coating. That combination is aimed at resisting:
- UV rays and fading
- Rain and general wet weather
- Tearing
- Cold cracking

It’s the sort of protection that’s most valuable if your grill stays outdoors for long periods—patio, garden, or any spot where it doesn’t get brought into storage. In practice, you’d expect less “gunk” collecting on top after rainy spells, and less sun damage to the cover material itself compared with basic options.

Worth noting: like most covers, it can’t replace good housekeeping. If water pools heavily due to fit or surface shape, or if you regularly leave the grill with moisture trapped underneath, you may still see condensation issues.

## Key features you’ll notice
You’re not just buying fabric here—you’re buying day-to-day usability.

The fastening straps should help prevent slipping or blowing off during windy conditions. If you’ve ever had to re-tug a cover after the first gust, you’ll appreciate the idea.

Cleaning is also kept simple: hose it down with water to remove dirt and debris, then air dry it in the sun for quicker drying. Just remember the basic rule they mention: let the grill cool completely before covering. That’s not a technicality—covering a hot grill is a safety issue and can also trap heat.

## Dimensions and fit considerations (what to check)
The stated grill cover dimensions are 163 x 56 x 89 cm. Before you buy, it’s worth comparing those dimensions to your grill/griddle so you’re not relying on “probably close enough”. A good cover is one that sits correctly without over-stretching.

Also keep in mind the entry is framed as compatible with grills like Weber and Char-Broil (and mentions other brands). However, it’s still best to treat this as “fits if the size matches” rather than a guarantee. Different grill layouts and lids can change how a cover settles.

It’s a solid pick if you want heavy-duty weather resistance and a cover that stays put, but it may not suit you if you’re after a lightweight, easy-to-pack cover for occasional use.

## How to use it in real life
A typical routine could look like this: after cooking, allow the grill to cool fully, then pull the cover over the top and down into position. Use the adjustable straps to secure it so it doesn’t lift at the corners.

On a wet day, the waterproof coating is there to reduce the amount of rain that soaks through. When the weather clears, you can keep things tidy by hosing off any dust or debris, then letting it air dry in the sun.

This is especially practical if you’re not looking to maintain a constant cover-lifting schedule—you just want a dependable barrier that works day after day.

## Pros and the limits to keep in mind
This cover’s strengths are pretty clear from its design intent: heavy-duty protection, waterproofing, and resistance to UV fading, plus straps for a steadier fit.

That said, no cover is perfect. If your grill is already wet when you cover it, you may still trap moisture under the cover. And if your grill shape is unusual or the size is off, it can lead to poorer coverage or the cover sitting in a way that lets water linger.

It might not be the best choice if you need something ultra-compact for frequent moving, or if your priority is breathability over waterproofing.

## Final verdict
It’s a good fit if you leave your 36 inch gas grill/griddle outside and you want waterproof, UV & fade resistant protection with adjustable straps to help it stay in place during windy spells. It makes sense when you’d rather avoid replacing covers every season.

You may want to skip it if you’re covering a grill that doesn’t match the size/dimensions well, or if you tend to cover the grill before it’s fully cooled. If you’re the type who needs a very lightweight cover for occasional, short-term use, this heavy-duty approach could feel more substantial than you need.
