## Description

This portable external DVD drive combines an optical disc reader and burner with a compact USB hub, so you get more ports and a disc drive in one unit. It suits occasional disc work and everyday media transfers, and it connects via USB Type-A or Type-C for straightforward use.

## Key features

The drive reads and writes CD and DVD formats, supporting CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM and DVD+RW according to the manufacturer. It offers up to 24x CD read/write speed and up to 8x DVDR read speed, which covers most music ripping and software install jobs. Built-in cables include both USB 3.0 Type-A and Type-C connectors, and plug-and-play compatibility means no extra drivers are required for supported systems.

## Tech specs

- Type: External DVD drive with USB hub
- Interface: USB 3.0 with Type-A and Type-C connectors
- Format: CD, DVD read and write compatible
- Capacity: Supports memory cards via SD and TF slots
- Colour: Not specified by manufacturer

## What you’ll notice day to day

Beyond disc work, the unit acts as a small hub with one USB 3.0 port, three USB 2.0 ports, one USB Type-C port and an SD card slot plus an external TF slot. That expands connectivity for a laptop with limited ports and makes transferring camera photos or plugging in a mouse or flash drive easier. Do note that Blu-ray, 3D and 4K DVD formats are not supported according to the product notes, so it is not suitable for high definition optical media.

## Who it’s for

It’s a good fit if you need occasional disc burning or legacy media access alongside extra USB ports, for example to archive discs, install older software, or move photos from an SD card to a laptop. It suits MacBook and Windows users who want a simple plug-and-play solution without adding separate dongles.
