## Description

## What it is
The Epson 604 Pineapple is a genuine four-colour ink cartridge multipack designed for Epson printers. It combines black pigment ink for sharp text with colour inks based on dye, aiming to deliver clear lines and vivid colour in everyday documents and photos. This is a full pack, but importantly the XL variants are available so you can replace only the colour you run out of, potentially lowering running costs over time.

## How it performs on paper
On the page, the combo promises reliable, consistent results from a trusted manufacturer. The black ink is pigment-based, which tends to resist fading and deliver crisper black text, while the colour inks are dye-based for punchy hues. The packaging highlights compatibility with Epson printers and suggests a straightforward experience with original Epson ink designed to work with your machine. In practice, you’ll likely notice more dependable prints when using genuine inks, especially if you’ve previously relied on non-OEM alternatives.

## Pros and cons at a glance
- Pros: genuine Epson ink guarantees compatibility, predictable results, and a straightforward replacement path as colours run out. The XL format can help reduce the frequency of replacements and the Eco-Friendly packaging is designed to cut plastic use. The EasyMail packaging fits through most letterboxes, which adds convenience.
- Cons: you shouldn’t expect dramatic cost savings if you print in high volumes, the claim of up to 500 black pages and 350 colour pages is subject to printer, print settings, and content. The packaging claims are useful but keep in mind your actual page yield may vary and this is still an ink cartridge, not a refill solution.

## Who it’s for
If you rely on reliable, colour-accurate prints from an Epson printer and prefer using original consumables for the best compatibility, this pack is a sensible option. It suits home offices and small businesses that prioritise consistent results and straightforward maintenance. If you typically print large volumes or frequently replace multiple colours, you might weigh the XL option against your actual usage.

## When it makes sense to buy
Consider this pack if you need dependable performance with Epson printers and value genuine inks for colour accuracy and drying times. The Eco-Friendly packaging is a bonus for those who want to minimise plastic waste in their cartridge purchases. If you routinely print large colour graphics or photos, check your actual page yields and compare with your typical print load to confirm it’s cost-effective for you.

## What to check before buying
- Confirm your Epson printer model compatibility (the pack is optimised for Epson printers).
- Note that the XL cartridges are designed to last longer between replacements, but page yields can vary with content and settings.
- Inspect packaging details: EasyMail packaging reduces plastic and is claimed to be mailbox-friendly.
- Ensure you select the correct colour mix for your printer’s current needs to avoid unnecessary substitutions.

## How it compares to other approaches
If your priority is cost per page and you print heavily, you might explore third-party inks or refills. However, using genuine Epson inks tends to minimise print quality risks and compatibility issues. For light to moderate use, the four-colour genuine pack offers a balance between convenience and dependable results, especially when you want straightforward, no-surprise maintenance.

## Practical usage example
Imagine printing a colour-friendly report for a client: the graph colours stay vibrant, text remains crisp in black, and you don’t have to worry about ink distribution anomalies because you’re using a genuine Epson set. The packaging’s mailbox-friendly design means you can reorder online and have it delivered neatly without extra packaging waste.

## Final verdict
Final verdict: worth considering if you prioritise compatibility, predictable results, and a smaller environmental footprint in packaging. It’s not the best-fit if you print very high volumes or if your usage pattern doesn’t align with the XL yield expectations. It suits users who value ease, reliability, and genuine Epson quality for day-to-day documents and colour work.

## FAQ

- Do the page yields apply to all content types? Yields are estimates, actual results depend on print content, settings, and printer model.
