Encore Natural Wet Dog Food Pouches: Chicken Selection in Jelly (12 x 100g)

What this product is

Encore Natural Wet Dog Food Pouches offer a high-protein, jelly-based meal designed for adult and senior dogs of all breeds. The formulation emphasises protein from chicken and omega fatty acids to support muscle strength, skin and coat health, and overall vitality. Packaged as 12 pouches of 100g each, the Chicken Selection in Jelly variety presents a simple, convenient way to complement a dry kibble diet or serve as a complete wet meal on its own.

What it’s for

If you’re prioritising a natural, protein-forward wet food for daily feeding, this range aims to deliver quality chicken as the primary ingredient, with fats from fish included to bolster omega-3 and omega-6 intake. It’s positioned as a practical option for broader nutritional support—suitable for dogs across life stages when used as part of a balanced diet.

What stands out in use

On the surface, the ingredients focus on high protein and a jelly texture that many dogs enjoy. The recipe avoids derivatives, artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, which can be appealing if you’re seeking straightforward wet food without added gimmicks. The inclusion of multiple chicken variations (breast, vegetables, ham, salmon) in the pack offers a little variety within a single purchase, which can help with picky eaters or to keep mealtimes interesting.

How it compares to other options

Compared with simple single-ingredient wet foods, this Encore range blends protein from chicken with omega-rich fish — a combination that, on paper, supports both muscle tone and coat health. It’s not a premium or limited-ingredient claim, but it does position itself toward a practical mid-range option for everyday feeding. If you prioritise a straightforward, plyable feeding solution that pairs with dry food, this product can be convenient, however, if you’re seeking a very narrow diet or highly restricted ingredients, you might prefer a more specialist line.

The best and the not-so-strong points

What works well: high protein content from chicken, omega fatty acids for skin and heart health, convenience of 12 x 100g pouches, and compatibility with dry food to form a balanced diet. What may fall short: the variations include ham and salmon, which introduce ingredients some owners prefer to avoid for dietary or flavour reasons, there’s no explicit detail on protein percentage per pouch beyond 55% chicken in jelly, and some dogs may prefer a wetter or more uniform texture.

Who it’s for

This is likely to suit households looking for an uncomplicated wet food that can supplement a dry diet, or those who want a reliable daily meal option for adult and senior dogs across breeds. It’s reasonable for dogs that benefit from higher protein intake and omega fatty acids, and for owners who appreciate packaging that’s easy to portion and store.

Who it’s not ideal for

If you require a strict, single-protein diet or have dogs with specific sensitivities to ham or salmon, you may want to review ingredient details or select a product with a narrower ingredient list. It may also be less suitable if your dog thrives on a very consistent texture or flavour without regional variety.

When it makes sense to buy

Consider this product if you want a pragmatic wet food option to supplement dry meals, or you’re looking for a ready-to-serve, portable option for travel or busy days. If you value natural ingredients and avoid artificial additives, the label positioning aligns with those intentions.

What to check before buying

• Confirm your dog tolerates seafood like salmon if that variety is included in the pack.
• Ensure the 12 x 100g format fits your feeding plan and freezer capacity.
• Consider how the jelly texture suits your dog’s preferences and chewing style.
• If your dog has known dietary restrictions, review the full ingredient list for any potential triggers.

Practical example of use

A typical morning could be to offer a 100g pouch as part of a mixed breakfast with dry kibble, giving your dog a protein-rich start to the day. If you’re handling a senior dog, the easy-to-serve pouches reduce feeding time and waste, while the omega intake supports coat and skin condition which can matter as mobility and activity change with age.
