## Description

This compact smart plug with energy monitoring turns ordinary sockets into manageable smart outlets for home lighting and small appliances. It records real-time power use so you can see consumption trends and set timers to run devices only when needed, helping lower bills and simplify daily routines.

## Key Points

The unit monitors energy consumption and displays usage graphs in the app, which helps track and compare appliance power over time. It supports voice control with Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing simple spoken commands to switch connected devices on or off. Setup and remote control are handled through the Smart Life app, enabling scheduling, countdowns and remote switching from anywhere. Note that this plug operates on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, so you should ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz network during installation.

## Technical Specifications

- **Name: EIGHTREE Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring**
- Maximum current: 13 A
- Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz only, not compatible with 5 GHz networks
- App compatibility: Smart Life (remote control, scheduling, energy graphs)
- Voice assistants: Works with [amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/EIGHTREE-Monitoring-Assistant-Wireless-Control/dp/B0B712GY64?tag=ukoftitasto-21) Alexa and Google Assistant

## Usage Recommendations

Place the smart plug on a mains socket that remains easily accessible for manual operation if needed. Use the scheduling functions for items like lamps, fans or holiday lights to automate daily on/off times and reduce standby consumption. For appliances with higher start-up currents avoid using the plug with heavy duty kettles or heaters, as the 13 A rating may limit performance in such cases. When setting up the device, switch your mobile to the router’s 2.4 GHz network to avoid pairing issues and follow the app prompts carefully.

## Advantages

The integration of energy monitoring and remote scheduling provides practical control over small appliances and lighting, offering a clear view of power use and the ability to curb unnecessary consumption. Voice control support adds convenience for hands-free operation, and the Smart Life ecosystem allows multiple plugs to be grouped for simultaneous control. Consider that rooms with only 5 GHz Wi-Fi may require router adjustment or a dual-band connection to use this plug effectively.
