## Description

This wooden magnetic maze brings colour and counting into playful learning for toddlers and preschoolers, combining a simple puzzle with bead-sorting and number recognition to keep little hands and minds engaged. It is suitable for children aged about 2 to 5 years who are beginning to practise fine motor skills and early numeracy, and it encourages focused, independent play according to the manufacturer.

## Key Points

The toy uses a magnetic pen to move 55 coloured beads along a maze into ten numbered "dinosaur egg" compartments. It supports early counting and colour recognition while offering a tactile challenge that helps develop hand-eye coordination. The design includes rounded corners and a smooth wooden finish, and the beads are enclosed to reduce the risk of loose parts during play.

## Technical Specifications

- **Name: DQMOON Montessori magnetic colour and number maze wooden toy**
- Age range: 2-5 years
- Components: 10 numbered egg compartments, 55 magnetic beads, magnetic pen
- Material: natural wood with smooth surface and rounded edges
- Storage: integrated compartment for the magnetic pen

## Benefits

Playing with the maze encourages patience and concentration as children guide beads to the correct compartment. Moving the beads with a magnetic pen improves dexterity and finger control, which supports later pencil grip and writing readiness. Colour sorting and counting exercises introduce early numeracy in a playful way that feels like a game rather than a lesson 😊.

## Usage Recommendations

For best performance keep the magnetic pen upright when not in use to protect the tip and magnets. Use on a flat surface to prevent beads from shifting unintentionally, and supervise very young children at first to demonstrate how the magnetic bead system works. Consider short, frequent sessions to match the typical attention span of toddlers and preschoolers, and alternate between guided counting activities and free play to reinforce learning.

## Nuances and Limitations

According to the manufacturer the beads are enclosed to reduce swallowing hazards, but adult supervision is advised for children under three years. The toy focuses on early motor skills and basic numbers rather than advanced counting or mathematical concepts, so it may not replace more complex educational resources as the child grows. 🦕
