Chuckit! Ultra Ball – Durable High Bounce Rubber Dog Toy (Medium, 6.5 cm) – Pack of 3
Product description
What it is
The Chuckit! Ultra Ball is a medium-sized dog toy designed for fetch and active play. Made from tough rubber, it’s built to endure vigorous chewing and long sessions of outdoor fun. The balls come in a pack of three and are specifically sized at 6.5 cm, aimed at medium-sized dogs. They’re also designed to work with Chuckit! launchers, which can help you throw further and extend playtime.
What matters most
On the surface, the Ultra Ball prioritises durability and visibility. The bright colours help you spot the ball quickly in grass or mud, reducing the chances of losing it on outdoor adventures. The high bounce feature aims to keep dogs engaged by creating unpredictable bounces, which can make games of fetch more interesting.

Pros
The ball’s high-bounce design can extend playtime, especially for dogs that enjoy long chases. The rugged rubber construction is suitable for dogs that chew while playing, potentially reducing the need for frequent replacements. The trademarked brightness is helpful when playing in open spaces.
Cons and caveats
It isn’t a perfect chew toy for heavy chewers who may gnaw through rubber quickly. The high bounce, while fun, can be more challenging to retrieve in tall grass or uneven terrain. If your dog is very rough with toys, you may notice wear sooner than with more specialised chews. Also, if you don’t use a Chuckit! launcher, the benefit of extended throws is less relevant, though the ball still functions as a regular fetch ball.
Usage tips
For best results, pair the Ultra Ball with a Chuckit! launcher during outdoor fetch sessions to maximise distance. In grassy or muddy conditions, inspect the rubber for any signs of cracking after rough play. If your dog loses interest after initial enthusiasm, switch to a slower, more controlled fetch routine to help re-engage attention.
Who it’s for
This is a pragmatic pick for owners with medium-sized dogs who enjoy regular fetch and want a durable ball that won’t fail after a few sessions. It suits households that already own a launcher and value quick visibility in outdoor spaces.
Who it’s not for
If your dog is a heavy chewer or you’re looking for a soft, super-durable rubber ball designed to outlast years of gnawing, this may fall short. If you don’t use or plan to use a launcher, you might not gain the full distance benefits that this design offers.
When it makes sense to buy
Consider this trio if you want a ready-to-use fetch solution that balances visibility, bounce, and durability for medium dogs. It’s sensible for play-heavy households and for people who want replacement balls on hand without reordering frequently.
Before you buy
Check that your dog’s size and energy level align with a 6.5 cm ball, and ensure you have a launcher compatible with Chuckit! balls. Inspect balls for wear after heavy chewing or outdoor use, and be prepared to replace if you notice cracking.
Practical example in use
Imagine a sunny afternoon in the park: your dog bolts after a far throw, the ball arches high, and a quick, lively chase ends with a satisfying splash of mud as the ball lands. Your dog’s enthusiasm remains high because the bright colour makes the target easy to spot, even after a splashy retrieval.
FAQ (based on available information)
- How many balls are in the pack? Three balls.
- Are these suitable for all dogs? They’re sized for medium dogs, very small or very large breeds may prefer different sizes.
- Do they require a launcher to work well? They perform with or without a launcher, but launchers extend throwing distance and may improve engagement for active dogs.
Final decision
Is it worth it? It makes sense if you want a visible, durable fetch ball that’s compatible with a launcher and aimed at medium-sized dogs. If your dog is a heavy chewer or you don’t use a launcher, you may want to assess alternatives or plan for extra wear over time.
