## Description

This Cat 8 Ethernet cable from cablism is a 20 metre, high-speed network lead designed to deliver stable wired connections for gaming, streaming and data-centre links. It supports very high transfer rates and a wide bandwidth, making it suitable where low latency and robust signal integrity are needed during long runs.

## Key Points

The cable supports data rates up to 40 Gbps according to the manufacturer, which covers 10/100/1000/10000/25000/40000 Mbit Ethernet standards. With a specified bandwidth of up to 2000 MHz, the construction aims to reduce interference and preserve signal quality over the full 20 metre length. The round, braided black outer jacket provides extra abrasion resistance while remaining flexible enough for routing behind desks or through equipment racks. For everyday use, this cable is intended to improve wired network reliability compared with lower-category leads, particularly in congested or electrically noisy environments. Note that full 40 Gbps performance depends on connected hardware and network configuration.

## Technical Specifications

- **Name: cablism Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 20m**
- Connector: RJ45 gold plated
- Bandwidth: 2000 MHz
- Maximum data rate: 40 Gbps (manufacturer specification)
- Internal conductors: oxygen-free copper (OFC) with tinned copper earth
- Shielding: S/FTP (shielded foiled twisted pair) construction

## Advantages

High shielding and quality conductors mean the cable aims to limit electromagnetic interference and resist corrosion of contact points. The gold-plated RJ45 connectors are specified to offer lasting contact reliability, which can be particularly useful when frequently plugging and unplugging network devices. Because the cable is backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6 and Cat 5 systems, it can be used as an upgrade without replacing existing hardware, while still allowing you to benefit from improved shielding and higher potential throughput. For those running bandwidth-heavy tasks, the combination of high MHz rating and solid core wiring supports sustained transfers and clearer signal integrity.

## Usage Recommendations

For best results, use this cable for server-to-switch links, gaming PC connections, or linking high-performance NAS units to your router. Keep in mind that to achieve end-to-end 40 Gbps speeds you will need compatible switches and network cards that support those rates. The 20 metre length is convenient for larger rooms and office setups; avoid tight bends and do not sharply kink the cable when routing as this can affect performance. Additionally, consider that in typical domestic networks the practical throughput may be limited by upstream equipment or internet service rather than the cable itself.
