## Description

## What it is
The BIC Marking 2000 ECOlutions Permanent Markers are a box of 36 black pens designed for everyday marking on a wide range of surfaces. They feature a rugged medium bullet tip to produce clean, thick 1.7 mm lines and fast-drying, low-odour ink that resists fading in light.

## What it solves
If you need reliable, long-lasting permanent marks for paper, cardboard, plastic, glass or metal, these markers promise legibility and durability without a strong odour. The ink dries quickly, reducing smear risk during busy tasks like tagging and label-writing in home, school or light workplace settings.

## Quick take: the positives
On the page, the markers feel practical for routine use. The 1.7 mm line width offers good visibility for notes, signage or general labelling, which can save time in busy tasks. The ink is designed to resist fading in light, which helps maintain legibility over time. A notable point is the ability to leave the marker uncapped for up to a month without it drying out, a handy feature if you’re juggling multiple tasks.

## Where it might fall short
While the markers are engineered to work on many surfaces, results can vary with highly textured or curved surfaces where line consistency might be influenced by surface irregularities. Also, as the box is monochrome, you’ll need other colours if your project requires more than black. If you prioritise ultra-low odour for prolonged indoor use, you may want to compare odour levels across brands.

## Who it’s for
These markers suit students, crafters, organisers and light-duty professionals who value dependable, bold marks on a variety of materials. They’re particularly handy for quick labels, signage in classrooms, workshop notes and temporary markings where legibility matters.

## Who it isn’t for
If you need precise, fine lines or colour variety, or if you’re working primarily on non-porous, slick surfaces where chisel tips or solvent-based inks excel, this may not be the best fit. Also, for high-precision graphic work, a finer or different nib might be preferred.

## When it makes sense to buy
Choose these markers when you want a straightforward, bulk option with a durable tip and robust ink that dries quickly. They’re a sensible value pick for bulk use in schools, offices or art rooms, especially if you regularly need black permanent marks on mixed media.

## Before you buy
Consider how often you’ll use permanent markers and on which surfaces. If you require a wider palette or tactile grip variations, the ECOlutions line may not offer that variety in this box. Inspect the nib wear and cap design if you’re marking in damp environments or handling slightly oily surfaces, as performance can vary with conditions.

## Practical usage example
Imagine you’re organising a classroom project. You label cardboard folders, plastic containers and glass jars, all in one colour for consistency. The medium tip gives you bold lines without excessive pressure, and the quick-dry ink helps prevent smudges as papers shift around a busy desk.

## Technical notes in brief
- Marking width: approximately 1.7 mm
- Surface compatibility: paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, metal (typical expectations)
- Ink: fast-drying, low-odour, fade-resistant in light
- Power-saving feature: can be left uncapped for up to 1 month without drying
- Material: European-made with 51% recycled materials (excluding ink system)
- Quantity: 36 black markers per box

## FAQ
- Do these markers require a special cap or storage condition? They use a standard cap, keep them capped when not in use to maintain ink longevity.
- Will the ink bleed on coated surfaces? Results can vary, for slick or coated surfaces, test on a small area first.
- Are there colour options available in this range? This box focuses on black markers, other colour options may be available separately.

## Is it worth it?
Worth considering if you prioritise bulk value, a reliable medium line for everyday needs and a low-odour permanent ink that dries quickly. It may not be the best choice if you need colour variety or ultra-precision for detailed work.
