## Description

This two-gang wall unit combines a rocker light switch with a trailing-edge LED dimmer on the same plate, allowing one circuit to be dimmed while the other is switched on or off. It suits rooms where flexible lighting is needed, such as living areas or bedside installations, and it offers protection against overload and overheating according to the manufacturer.

## Key Points

The unit supports dimmable LEDs from 3 to 100 watts and halogen or tungsten lamps from 3 to 150 watts, so it covers a wide range of common domestic fittings. The dimmer uses trailing-edge technology, which tends to be quieter and more compatible with modern LED lamps compared with older leading-edge designs. Installation requires a minimum mounting box depth of 25 mm and the module includes overload, over-current and over-temperature protection to add a level of safety during operation. ⚡️

## Technical Specifications

- Name: **Belns Melns LED Dimmer and Rocker Wall Light Switch Combo 2 Gang 2 Way**
- Dimmer type: **Trailing-edge**
- Dimmer load for LEDs: 3–100 W
- Dimmer load for halogen and tungsten: 3–150 W
- Minimum mounting box depth: 25 mm

## Benefits

Having a dedicated dimmer alongside a standard rocker switch on one plate gives practical control over light levels and simple on/off operation without needing multiple fittings. The trailing-edge dimmer is better suited to contemporary LED lamps, reducing flicker in many setups and often producing less audible noise from lamps compared with older dimming methods. For rooms used for both relaxation and tasks, this combination lets you quickly alter ambience while keeping one circuit easily switchable. 💡

## Usage Recommendations

Fit the unit where dual control is useful, for example pairing a main ceiling light with a secondary lamp on a separate circuit. When replacing an existing switch, confirm the wiring and neutral configuration before installation, and consider that some very low-power LED lamps below 3 watts may not dim reliably. Also, larger circuits intended to run multiple high-power halogen fittings should respect the maximum load specified by the manufacturer to avoid nuisance tripping or reduced lifespan. 🔧

## Nuances and Limitations

Compatibility with specific LED models can vary, so some dimmable lamps might still exhibit flicker or limited dimming range according to the manufacturer. The dimmer’s lower load limit means it may not perform ideally with very low-consumption LED bulbs, and the minimum mounting depth of 25 mm must be checked in older shallow pattress boxes before installation.
