It delivers a balance of practicality and value, without the frills that you don’t need. ## What it is and what it’s for This is a 24-pack of black permanent markers designed for writing, doodling and drawing on a variety of surfaces. The markers feature a durable fine point that aims to provide bold marks and clean lines. The ink is quick-drying, waterproof, smear-proof and fade resistant, which helps keep annotations legible over time. The solid-black ink is chosen for high visibility against white or light-coloured backgrounds, making it versatile for projects, labels, crafts and everyday notes. ## Pros and what stands out On the paper side, you get a consistent line with a fine point that suits precise work. The non-toxic formulation and ASTM D4236 conformity are reassuring for typical home and office environments. The quick-drying properties reduce smudging, which is handy for busy desks and classrooms. In addition, its broad surface compatibility—photos, plastic, cellophane, wood, stone, metal, and glass—means it can handle a lot of ad-hoc tasks without switching tools. ## Cons and limitations to consider One potential limitation is the single colour choice: you’ll be restricted to black. If your projects require colour-coding or a wider palette, this set won’t meet that need. While the ink is designed to be waterproof and fade resistant, how durable it remains under rough handling or long-term outdoor exposure isn’t specified. If you prioritise ultra-long-term outdoor durability or vibrant multi-colour sets, you might want to look at alternatives. ## Who it’s for This set suits students, home organisers, craft enthusiasts and light-duty office users who want a straightforward permanent marker with dependable performance on a variety of surfaces. It’s especially handy for quick labels on plastic, glass or metal, or for jotting down reminders on photos and other media where visibility matters. ## Who it isn’t perfect for If you need a wide range of colours, variable tip sizes, or special effects (like marks on glossy surfaces with extra abrasion), this black-only pack isn’t the best fit. Likewise, users seeking markers with odour control or refillable designs may find this option limited. ## When it makes sense to buy If you want an affordable, ready-to-go set of black permanent markers for everyday tasks around the home or office, this 24-pack offers a practical default choice. The combination of quick-drying ink and broad surface compatibility makes it a sensible pick for general use, quick repairs, school projects and craft ideas where a clean, legible mark is important. ## When to look elsewhere If your use case involves outdoor, high-abrasion environments, or you require a broader colour range or specific tip types, consider other options that specifically advertise those features. In short: for a focused, budget-friendly black marker that’s handy for most indoor tasks, this is a sensible choice, for more demanding or varied needs, you may want to explore alternatives. ## What to check before buying Ensure the marker’s surface compatibility aligns with your immediate needs, especially if you plan to mark on unusual materials. Consider whether you need a finer or bolder line and whether a single colour suffices for your projects. Also verify you’re comfortable with non-toxic, classroom-friendly claims and the ASTM D4236 conformity. ## Practical example of use Imagine labeling storage boxes in a shed or workshop. A bold, quick-drying line on wood or plastic helps you keep things organised without waiting for ink to smear. The markers can also be used on glass jars for a permanent-looking label that remains legible after cleaning, which is handy for reusing containers. ## The bottom line: should you buy it? ### Should you buy it? It makes sense if you’re after a reliable, value-focused set of black permanent markers that work across common surfaces and won’t smear once dry. It’s not the strongest option if you need multiple colours or extreme outdoor durability. ## FAQ - Do these markers work on metal and glass? Yes, the base mentions suitability for metal and glass, among other surfaces. - Is the ink waterproof? Yes, the ink is described as waterproof and quick-drying. - Are they non-toxic? Yes, they are non-toxic and conform to ASTM D4236. ## Images ![Amazon Basics Permanent Markers, Black, 24-Pack — 1](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/iwAcFjnhXpPVrQx9hPUS9MzdSsw3LxSylZbLLL0Yhh4aKo0t0aQKSZYxwZbM7JSFrUTBAl5v-jbtxiNej5lFBFFa7Za2zsJT-9ufTkJBGuGEkwLlg5m8jssLWw.jpg) ![Amazon Basics Permanent Markers, Black, 24-Pack — 2](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/xtV4q_7tHgXJio8EcY3cuGrgbjOm9n96hYQrgWWH85rStCkpfQ6gU5Mln_rdk1UdCH0tuB8v-w-6zZ8vle7WLiDbsexf6ZOeVB99jg8YTthVRlGzlsi9igX0ig.jpg) ![Amazon Basics Permanent Markers, Black, 24-Pack — 3](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/vPOtyqsDBmf4BN_Jc_nupgjSh9r_o-oDR1HBsf4dtPw7y98pjDRRXAQPKwoeApbF9b-8NrouNu0h6vdCAX7kK1c0aLHcjGdTsCoYx10eLA5vOWfTEpk0wcf6Bw.jpg) ![Amazon Basics Permanent Markers, Black, 24-Pack — 4](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/evAWe0ermNxbsyQTVxLdGGD6QX2aSteRtswvjIMPz9xAPt_V3DYNSsnOYDg4-GK13MDTop8ocCNN_nVhtGHY8GaPOWmU-7vtp__sQyRM4slSbjQQgsCVbL8nFQ.jpg) ![Amazon Basics Permanent Markers, Black, 24-Pack — 5](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/MfQh-wZVfk1A31-4UdPAdaqSiUOltun6gzKOe1xghUQUSvuCjlrJq-lE54-dQ4AB09EmT9K4J1npSRu5XgYEmXoKR0ic0DVuYLFzE4ob3IIbwA7wevomJoUmlQ.jpg)
