It combines SAE and metric sizes in one compact kit, making it handy for tasks from bicycle maintenance to furniture assembly and basic machinery work. If you’re looking for a straightforward, no-nonsense tool collection that covers common sizes without faffing about, this set is worth considering. ## Build and materials The keys are made from chrome vanadium steel, a classic choice for durability and rust resistance. The black oxide finish adds protection and a subdued, practical look. The long arms provide extra reach and leverage, which can make stubborn bolts easier to turn. Beveled ends aid smooth insertion into fasteners, and the ball-end design offers an entry angle of up to 25 degrees, useful when obstacles prevent straight alignment. ## How it is packaged Two hinged cases are included, each with dedicated slots for secure storage and clear size markings for quick access. The packaging helps you stay organised and reduces the chance of losing individual keys in a toolbox. ## Who it’s for This set tends to appeal to DIY enthusiasts, home mechanics, cyclists, and hobbyists who need a versatile, ready-to-go hex key collection without paying premium prices. It’s especially useful if you frequently work on a mix of bikes, vehicles, furniture, and light machinery where both SAE and metric sizes come into play. ## Strengths you’ll notice On the plus side, you get breadth (SAE and metric), durability (chrome vanadium steel), and convenience (two organised cases with size-marked slots). The long arm design is helpful for leverage and reach in tight or awkward spaces, while the ball-end feature can reduce juggling when alignment is tricky. ## Limitations and things to watch It’s not a premium or specialty set. The tools are basic but capable for common tasks, if you regularly work with very high-torque hardware or need exotic sizes, you may want a larger, more specialised kit. If you prioritise ultra-fine precision or a non-rusting finish beyond standard black oxide, you might want to compare with other materials or finishes. Also, the description doesn’t specify the exact size range within SAE and metric, so you’ll want to check that the most common sizes you use are included. ## What to check before buying - Confirm that the included SAE and metric ranges cover the sizes you use most. - Consider whether the long-arm design and ball-end meet your typical working angles and reach needs. - Inspect the two cases for solidity and whether slots are clearly marked and easy to access in daily use. ## How it compares to simpler approaches If you only occasionally tighten bolts, a small single-size set could suffice. For more frequent or mixed-use tasks, a 22-piece kit like this offers better coverage without moving to a more expensive professional set. It sits in the practical, value-for-money tier rather than the premium end, making it a sensible choice for those balancing cost with real-world needs. ## Practical usage example Think of a bike repair afternoon: you reach for the long-arm hex keys to adjust derailleur bolts or brake fittings where space is tight. The ball-end entry helps when the fastener isn’t perfectly aligned, and the long reach helps you apply leverage without requiring awkward body positions. The included storage cases mean you can lay out the exact size you need without rummaging through a mix of tools. ## Final decision: Should you buy it? Is it worth it? Worth considering if you want a broad, practical hex key collection that covers both SAE and metric sizes, with durable construction and convenient organisation. It may not be the best option if you routinely work with high-torque fasteners or need a specialised or premium finish. Overall, for general maintenance, bike and furniture work, it offers dependable value and straightforward usability. ## Frequently asked questions - Do the keys come in standard imperial and metric sizes? Yes, the set includes both SAE and metric sizes. - Is the finish prone to rust? The chrome vanadium steel with a black oxide finish provides rust resistance typical of this material, suitable for everyday use. - Are the cases secure for toolbox transport? The two hinged cases with dedicated slots are designed to keep the keys in place and easy to identify, though you should still handle them with care in transit. ## Images ![Amazon Basics 22-Piece Long Arm Hex Key Wrench Set – SAE/Metric — 1](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/onM56xMAAEh0Ajgy-ZjmUG8-49Lte5tWKk7oTyFn3i8WD5v1MsFwSGHbAQYrW31ofO-DyPO-igA_rOIU01URcv2uwmCQ2GckBfmMoVtfzmfhG07joKUNY-ompg.jpg) ![Amazon Basics 22-Piece Long Arm Hex Key Wrench Set – SAE/Metric — 2](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/k580CJnMwH9KHkRMdMeVlpYeIIu76zxpTYV2HPfTFRuCXaCrUq3CwFTW3NnU_S91zhPC5Ldy4MDW7dV9lRCV39fFeK3IAqjIVo7C37eKRP3Ju0BszFTWsSYf_Q.jpg) ![Amazon Basics 22-Piece Long Arm Hex Key Wrench Set – SAE/Metric — 3](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/CjP4VgCn3qFx-BGGwG6IQsgQnTHQOrnmi4R9D6n0XcHf1Ixg1TW9vTiVYs4jhyAl36kiEI9sUa1d9ETbRo4hfcM_I8Yd99fZywHpxqRmRGA5WcuZTAPmuk9guQ.jpg) ![Amazon Basics 22-Piece Long Arm Hex Key Wrench Set – SAE/Metric — 4](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/7eKXbOdOyI47h3Idzm4jP3gmcNU1nohxFktTbnuPvAcNZ_yWjHX9A0psT5gfC01zXhsHDd9CZoSkTUiqaHO0BgZUxCjKfVkag4Lvmq4z925k26G2koI1_C1F6Q.jpg) ![Amazon Basics 22-Piece Long Arm Hex Key Wrench Set – SAE/Metric — 5](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/8yuMiJLQfXrIqQv3IJR6SM4kw2qV_alkcfCq3SifEpBV57i4eX3fmBe8t6D2WAeNqAor43aM58FIetj_MtLL8f0M1fQ98JlxeLzx3khpiruBb4wnnAwnSNF1Sw.jpg)
