Its aluminium housing and braided cable also suit a setup where the connector will be plugged in and handled regularly. It is a one-way connection: DisplayPort on the source side and HDMI on the display side. The listed maximum is 8K@60Hz, with other stated modes including 4K@144Hz and 2K@165Hz. Actual results can vary in use, buyer feedback is mixed on high-refresh performance and signal reliability. ## Key points This is a compact adapter cable rather than a two-way converter. It has a DisplayPort male connector and an HDMI female connector, so it is intended to send a signal from a DisplayPort output to an HDMI screen. It does not support an HDMI source connected to a DisplayPort display. UGREEN lists support for resolutions up to 8K@60Hz, as well as 4K@144Hz, 4K@120Hz and 4K@60Hz, and 2K@165Hz, 2K@144Hz and 2K@120Hz. It also supports HDCP 2.3 and EDID, with no driver or extra setup required according to the product details. The stated backward compatibility includes earlier DisplayPort and HDMI versions. The aluminium alloy jacket and nylon-braided cable are practical details for a desk or gaming setup, while the silver finish is easy to distinguish behind other leads. Buyers have praised the sturdy, premium-feeling construction, but feedback on image performance and compatibility is mixed. Some report black screens or interrupted signals, and overheating is also mentioned, so the build materials do not guarantee trouble-free operation in every setup. ## Getting the most from it Use it when the computer or other source has a DisplayPort output and the display accepts HDMI. For example, it can connect a desktop PC to an HDMI monitor for a second screen, or link a laptop to a TV or projector. A separate graphics card is not required solely to add another display, provided the source already has a suitable DisplayPort output. The stated maximum refresh and resolution figures are useful when matching the adapter to a gaming monitor or high-resolution screen. Still, customer reports vary on 4K at 120Hz and on compatibility with particular TVs. If that exact combination matters, treat the listed modes as product claims rather than a guarantee for every source-and-display pairing. It’s a good fit if you need a direct DisplayPort-to-HDMI link and want a more robust cable covering than a basic PVC lead. It may not suit you if your signal needs to travel from HDMI to DisplayPort. ## Everyday use For a home-office setup, the adapter can provide a straightforward route from a desktop to a monitor or projector, with no driver installation described. Its short cable format is intended not to protrude too far from the back of a device, which may help when connecting other leads nearby. It is supplied as a single unit and has no power plug. Compared with a basic adapter intended for standard display use, the stated high-resolution and refresh-rate support may be more relevant for a gaming display. A more demanding setup, however, should account for the mixed reports of dropped signals and black screens, as well as reports of the connector becoming warm. Those are buyer experiences, not a confirmed outcome for every installation. ## Before you decide **Can it connect an HDMI laptop or console to a DisplayPort monitor?** No. The stated direction is DisplayPort source to HDMI display, not the reverse. **Does it need drivers or a separate power plug?** The product details say no drivers or extra setup are needed, and list no power plug. **Which display modes are listed?** The stated top mode is 8K@60Hz, listed alternatives include 4K@144Hz and 2K@165Hz. Buyer feedback on particular high-refresh combinations is mixed. ## Is it worth it? This adapter makes sense when the source has DisplayPort, the screen has HDMI, and you want a cable-based connection with stated support for high resolutions and refresh rates. Its braided cable and aluminium housing are useful practical touches, while the one-way direction is an important restriction. For a setup where uninterrupted high-refresh output is essential, the mixed customer reports on signal and compatibility are worth weighing before choosing it. ## Images ![UGREEN DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, 8K@60Hz, aluminium housing and braided cable — 1](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/TyORiA6bLbDx1UDFUFgA2V0P5EqcI3_UKZkT_nfjPP5j9FWqgdNkVz7uJIjPN3-MIV9EIRiBV2KIdTjS4Plzi5x8g9XNY8kgUrpwY4wWsvpdnEn-d07Lfz4dWg.jpg) ![UGREEN DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, 8K@60Hz, aluminium housing and braided cable — 2](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/8prqEG7u4CBt3o3bmgjK8QyVJaO3_suohEpQhpDNqss3HeqFZiGLk9rrqHYaC8xviUeWFHViAp699tEt-WTnecJIZ-JXFHNMPPHnUttD6ZtEgE2PimiJLFwJOA.jpg) ![UGREEN DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, 8K@60Hz, aluminium housing and braided cable — 3](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/bLvyciee0FdEorHxq2hl_lwiARN68F240sOOfkU79FEcWt0KpZQCtGnmQGr-Bprf-mkRc4zwfUKD5T6PhOsZWwytwviVUA2dutw6MWNo81KSRCAuSn16Qgh7NQ.jpg) ![UGREEN DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, 8K@60Hz, aluminium housing and braided cable — 4](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/O83eLKXI0RpZAgUfIkMguinhPpzDhFagMT4PmoqTgUh31NZ3Xr-PF9nrZYgph55nwtdujweFjLxN9c4tYQtvodzco0J6eo6xOPFNp1DaLdzEVR8XQVDa1OQmJQ.jpg) ![UGREEN DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, 8K@60Hz, aluminium housing and braided cable — 5](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/E2FkOiEofPh9i4_WMszWvSSF5qWzLQqFxidjAX1zHUOir6pUMISXw3Lpq2ciTOzlgxGBlHADzfyGEEvG5kHttGvaDRbVGXT9IEe-argShNPUD43pNq2rsRWqZw.jpg)
