## Description

Use a physical security key to sign in to supported accounts on a computer, or use NFC with a compatible mobile phone. The Thetis Pro-A combines USB-A and NFC with FIDO2 passkey authentication and TOTP/HOTP codes, giving you more than one way to add an extra layer of account protection.

Choose the connection that suits the device in front of you: plug in the USB-A key on a compatible computer, or use NFC on a compatible phone. It is designed for use with services including Gmail, Facebook, GitHub and Dropbox, the service must support hardware security keys.

## Worth noting

FIDO2 enables passwordless sign-in on supported platforms, while TOTP/HOTP authentication provides another method for added protection. That makes the key useful for securing everyday accounts as well as work logins, without relying on a battery or network connection. Support for hardware keys varies by service, so check that the account you want to protect offers this sign-in option.

The USB-A connection suits devices with a matching port, NFC offers a practical alternative when using a compatible phone. The key has a 360° rotating metal cover and a compact, lightweight design that can attach to a keyring. Buyers highlight straightforward setup and successful use with services such as Google and Microsoft, while compatibility experiences are mixed. For a real-world routine, it can be used to authenticate an email login on a computer, then kept with your keys for access on the go.

## Quick sizing guide

At 45D x 16W x 9H millimetres and 0.3 ounces, the key is small enough to carry on a keyring. Its USB-A connector is intended for a matching port, while NFC is the alternative for compatible mobile devices. If you are choosing between a portable key and a separate code-based authenticator, this model brings USB-A, NFC and TOTP/HOTP authentication together in one device.

## Who it’s for

This key is suited to people who want a physical sign-in method for supported online accounts, and to small businesses looking to add hardware-based authentication to account access. It supports Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS, with USB-A and NFC connectivity for use across compatible devices. The listed services include Gmail, Facebook, GitHub and Dropbox, making it a practical choice for protecting a mix of personal and work accounts. It makes sense if you want a compact key that offers both FIDO2 passkey sign-in and TOTP/HOTP authentication.

## What to clarify

**Can it be used with any online account?** No: the service needs to support hardware security keys. The product lists Gmail, Facebook, GitHub and Dropbox among compatible services, and support can differ between platforms.

**How does it connect?** It has a USB-A interface and NFC. Use the option supported by your device and the service you are signing in to.

**Does it need a battery or network connection?** No. The key is designed to work without either, so authentication does not depend on charging or a network connection.

## Is it worth it?

The Thetis Pro-A brings together FIDO2 passkey sign-in, TOTP/HOTP authentication and two connection options in a compact key. For anyone securing supported accounts across compatible computers and phones, that combination offers a straightforward way to carry an additional authentication method wherever they go.
