## Description

For an HTPC or ITX desktop where cooler height matters, the Thermalright AXP90-X53 Black provides CPU air cooling in a compact 53 mm profile. Its low height makes it a practical fit for small-form-factor builds.

Four 6 mm heatpipes use AGHP technology, designed to address the effect of gravity when the cooler is mounted vertically or horizontally. That gives the heatpipe arrangement a clear role in different case layouts.

The included TL-9015B slim fan uses a 4-pin PWM connection for automatic speed control. With stated airflow of 42.58 CFM and a noise level of 22.4 dB(A), it combines a compact design with defined cooling and fan specifications.

## How it fits

The AXP90-X53 is intended for desktop CPU cooling, particularly in HTPC and ITX systems where a low-profile cooler is useful. At 53 mm high, it offers an alternative to a full-height tower cooler when the build calls for a more compact cooling arrangement. Its dimensions are 94.5 x 95 x 53 mm, so you can compare the cooler’s footprint and height with the space planned for your system.

The supplied metal fixtures are matched to the supported platforms, and installation can be carried out using the manual or installation video. It supports AMD AM4 and AM5, along with Intel LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1151 and LGA1150 sockets. Check the socket on your motherboard when choosing a CPU cooler, the mounting hardware is intended for the listed platforms.

## Why it’s worth it

A compact cooler still needs to move heat away from the CPU efficiently. Here, four 6 mm heatpipes transfer heat through an aluminium heatsink, while AGHP technology is designed to counter the effect of gravity across different mounting orientations. This can be useful when planning a small PC whose layout differs from a conventional tower build.

The 92 mm TL-9015B fan adjusts its speed through PWM, so fan control can respond automatically to temperature. Its 4-pin connector is a useful detail when matching the cooler to a compatible motherboard fan header. Thermal paste is also supplied to support heat transfer between the CPU and cooler during installation.

For a compact case, the low-profile approach prioritises reduced cooler height over the taller heatsink format often chosen for larger builds. It suits you if you are assembling an HTPC or ITX desktop and want a 53 mm air cooler with defined socket support, a PWM fan and four heatpipes.
