## Description

Some gaming setups call for straightforward, wired control, others put more emphasis on customisable looks and responsive clicks. The SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 brings those priorities together in a right-handed optical mouse. Want precise tracking for quick aim adjustments? Its 8500 DPI sensor and low-latency clicks are built for responsive play.

## Fit and sizing

Designed for right-handed use, the Rival 3 Gen 2 measures 12.1 × 6.7 centimetres. Its shape is made for gaming sessions where controlled movements and quick repositioning matter. A braided Super Mesh Paracord cable is designed to reduce drag and improve flexibility, while the 100% PTFE feet help the mouse glide smoothly across the desk. Together, these details support a setup where the cable and movement feel are part of the day-to-day experience, rather than afterthoughts.

## Strengths

The optical sensor is rated up to 8500 DPI and is designed for one-to-one tracking, helping the cursor follow precise movements during aiming and rapid changes of direction. Clicks have a stated latency of 1.35 ms, so the mouse is geared towards fast input in games where a responsive click matters. Mechanical switches are rated for up to 60 million clicks, and the three-zone RGB lighting adds configurable colour to the desk.

Programmable buttons let you tailor input to your preferred setup. The mouse connects by USB, making it a practical choice for a wired PC gaming station. In a typical session, the flexible cable and PTFE feet support easy movement across the desk, while the sensor and responsive clicks are ready for quick adjustments in play.

Buyer feedback also speaks positively about perceived quality, reliability and value. One buyer reports using the mouse without issues for 8–9 months, that is an individual experience, rather than a guarantee, but it gives useful context alongside the product’s stated switch durability.
