Soehnle Luggage Scale, 50 kg Capacity, LCD Display, Strap and Metal Hook

How to use it

If you mainly need to weigh a bag before leaving home, a portable scale may be more useful than relying on an estimate. This handheld Soehnle model is designed for luggage and other items that can be secured with its clip-on strap. Its stated maximum capacity is 50 kg, so it is intended for loads within that limit. The LCD display shows the reading, and you can select kg, st or lb.

Attach the strap to the suitcase or other item, then use the scale to lift and weigh it. The ergonomically shaped body is intended to make handling more comfortable, while the add-and-weigh function can help when weighing items in stages. At home, that gives you a way to check a packed case before travel, away from home, its portable format means it can be carried for another weighing if plans change. It is also described as suitable for book bags and many other objects, though the item still needs to attach securely to the strap.

Pros

The main practical advantage is that it combines a compact, 109 g handheld design with a strap for attaching luggage, rather than requiring the bag to sit on a platform. Its 50 kg capacity, selectable units and add-and-weigh function give it more flexibility than a basic scale limited to a single unit or a single weighing method. The stated readout accuracy is ±100 g, which is useful when checking a suitcase close to a weight limit, although it is still a scale reading rather than a guarantee of how another weighing point will assess the bag.

Buyer feedback commonly describes the scale as portable and useful for travel, with many finding its readings accurate. Durability feedback is less consistent: some buyers praise the build, while others report that theirs broke immediately. Opinions on value are also mixed, so the convenience of a small travel scale is likely to matter more than expecting a universally praised purchase.

It suits you if you want a carryable way to check suitcases, cabin luggage or other strap-secured items, and the 50 kg limit covers what you plan to weigh. Compared with a fixed weighing setup, the handheld format is easier to take along, a more demanding weighing task may call for equipment specified for that particular job.

Final verdict

This Soehnle scale is a practical fit for travellers who want to check a packed bag at home or while away, with a strap, LCD readout and three selectable unit formats. The firm capacity limit is the clearest reason to choose carefully: Better avoided if the items you need to weigh may exceed 50 kg. For ordinary luggage checks within that maximum, its portability and straightforward attachment are the key benefits, while the mixed reports on durability are worth bearing in mind.
