The three radio bands give you a choice of broadcasts, while the LCD display shows the tuning information. For an emergency plan, the SOS alarm and torch add signalling and illumination, and the reading light provides a separate source of light for close-up tasks. The power-bank function can be used to charge a compatible smartphone, so the radio has a role beyond listening when you are away from a mains supply.

The charging options suit different situations: use USB-C for charging, with solar and the hand crank as additional ways to generate power. The radio is described as IPX6 rainproof and shockproof, making it suited to outdoor use where conditions can change. Buyers appreciate the compact design, FM sound and usefulness in emergencies, feedback on functionality, battery life and the controls is mixed. That perspective is useful when choosing between a straightforward radio and a multifunctional emergency unit like this one.

## Usage tips
Keep the radio somewhere accessible in an emergency kit or camping bag, so the broadcast, alarm and lights are ready to hand. Use the LCD to tune across AM, FM or SW, and connect headphones through the jack when private listening is useful. The torch is suited to finding your way or locating items in low light, while the reading light helps with close tasks such as checking a map or reading instructions.

For power, USB-C offers a direct charging method, while solar charging and the hand crank provide alternatives. The power bank is intended for a compatible smartphone, using the radio’s different functions according to the situation helps make this a practical part of an emergency or outdoor set-up.

## What’s included
The listed components are a carabiner and an owner’s manual. The carabiner provides a way to attach the radio to suitable gear, keeping it accessible on an outing or in a packed emergency kit.

## Final verdict
The ROCAM 1009UItra is aimed at people who want one portable device to cover broadcasts, lighting, emergency signalling and phone charging. Its AM/FM/SW tuner, 12,000 mAh capacity and three charging methods make it particularly useful for a home emergency kit or camping set-up where access to a mains supply may vary. The built-in clock, LCD and headphone jack add everyday convenience, while the torch, reading light and SOS alarm broaden its role beyond a conventional radio.
