## Description

## Everyday use

With a pinless format and a detection depth of up to 19 mm, the Proster PST252-US checks moisture without puncturing or scratching the surface. Its four modes cover walls, masonry, softwood and hardwood, making it useful for checking different materials around the home or during renovation work. The LCD gives a reading, while the coloured LED bar and audible alarm help make changes in moisture easier to notice.

USB-C recharging means the meter can be charged for repeated checks, and its separate mode buttons make it straightforward to select the material being measured.

## What you’ll notice day to day

The three-colour LED bar indicates dry, risk and wet levels, so you can quickly see how a reading is categorised without relying on the number alone. The alarm sounds more quickly as moisture content rises, adding a clear prompt when scanning a wall or timber surface. This is useful when checking several areas: move the meter across the material and use the display and alerts to help identify spots that merit a closer look.

A short press of the Hold button keeps a reading on screen, a long press starts calibration. Auto-off helps manage operation between checks, and the ergonomic grip is designed to make the meter comfortable to handle. A storage bag is included for keeping it together between jobs.

Buyers often describe the meter as easy to use and useful for finding damp spots. Feedback on accuracy is mixed, so readings are best treated as a guide to help compare areas and decide where further inspection may be worthwhile.

## Key features

The non-invasive sensor reads moisture values within a depth of up to 19 mm. For a useful measurement, the material being tested should be thicker than the detection depth. Moisture behind the measured material can affect readings, metal nails and pipes are among the examples noted, so take the surrounding structure into account when scanning.

Choose the mode for wall, masonry, softwood or hardwood before measuring. The meter reads the highest moisture content within its detection depth, which can help locate a wetter area beneath the surface. It is a practical alternative to pin-style meters when preserving the visible surface matters, such as checking finished timber or painted walls.

The package includes the pinless moisture meter, battery, instructions and storage bag. USB-C charging is supported, and the supplied battery is rechargeable. The LCD, LED indicators and audible alert offer several ways to interpret a reading, whether you are checking a single patch or comparing multiple points across a room.

## When it makes sense

This meter suits home maintenance and renovation checks where you want to investigate possible damp without leaving pin marks. For example, scan a wall near a suspect patch, then compare nearby areas using the wall mode, on timber, select the hardwood or softwood mode as appropriate. Its four material modes make it a useful choice for jobs that involve more than one surface type, while the hold function can preserve a reading as you move on to the next point.

Worth considering if you want a rechargeable, non-destructive meter for checking walls, masonry or wood, with visual and audible cues to help interpret readings. The Proster PST252-US combines those features in a handheld format suited to routine damp checks around the home.
