Parlophone Kraftwerk Radio-Activity (50th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray, Dolby Atmos
Product description
How to use it
Some buyers want a familiar album in a straightforward stereo mix, others are looking for a more spacious presentation to explore on a suitable home cinema system. This Blu-ray anniversary edition of Kraftwerk’s Radio-Activity caters for both approaches, with Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and stereo mixes included. The stereo option is specified at 48kHz/24bit, giving listeners a clear alternative to the surround mixes.
The release was prepared from the original 16-track master tapes by Kraftwerk founder Ralf Hütter and engineer Fritz Hilpert. For a practical listening session, you could choose the Atmos mix for a compatible setup, or use the stereo version when you simply want to listen without a surround system. It makes sense if you value having several mixes of the album on one disc, it may not suit you if you are looking for a digital-only release.
Strengths
The main appeal is choice rather than a change to the album itself. Dolby Atmos is the headline mix, while the 5.1 version and stereo mix offer other ways to listen. That makes this a more mix-focused purchase than a basic album edition aimed solely at stereo playback. The stated runtime is 38 minutes, and the set contains one Blu-ray disc.
Buyer feedback is positive about the sound and the Atmos presentation. Some listeners particularly appreciate how the surround mix uses the available channels, while others describe the release as a favourite album revisited. Those comments reflect individual listening impressions, not a guarantee that every system or listener will produce the same result. The supplied details do not specify what playback equipment is needed, so the value of the surround options depends on the setup available to you.

Final verdict
This edition is easiest to justify for Kraftwerk listeners who want to compare the album across its supplied mixes, particularly if they already have a suitable surround setup. The stereo mix means Atmos equipment is not the only reason to consider it, but buyers seeking only a basic stereo edition may have less use for the extra surround formats. The useful distinction is the set of listening options on a single Blu-ray, rather than any promise that one mix will suit every room or system.
