## Description

For model-making and miniature projects that need a straight, solid shaft, these OFFCUP round rods provide 3mm diameter stock in 300mm lengths. Made from 304 stainless steel, they can be cut and shaped to suit the job, so you can make a rod fit a particular build rather than relying on a ready-made shaft length.

The pack contains ten rods for model aircraft, boats and cars, as well as small mechanical assemblies. Their smooth, burr-free surface and chamfered, polished ends make them easier to handle and help when fitting linear bearings.

## Quick sizing guide

Each rod is 3mm in diameter and 300mm long. This size suits projects that call for a 3mm round shaft, including gear shafts, motor shafts, short support shafts and miniature shafts. The 300mm stock length gives you material to cut to the length required for your build, the rods can also be formed for projects that need a shaped component.

Before cutting, consider the finished length and how the shaft will sit in the assembly, particularly where it connects to a bearing, gear or support. If your project calls for several small shafts or supports, having ten rods to hand gives you material for multiple parts and adjustments as the build takes shape.

## What stands out

The 304 stainless steel construction is described as hard, rust-resistant and corrosion-resistant, making these rods suitable for practical model and DIY work where a metal shaft is needed. The material is also easy to weld or form, giving you useful flexibility when adapting a rod to a particular miniature mechanism.

A smooth, burr-free finish helps with fitting and handling, while the chamfered, polished ends are designed to make installation in linear bearings easier. For a model car, a correctly sized shaft can help support the body and keep the assembly moving as intended. The rods are also suited to model aeroplanes, helicopters and boats, or to connecting gears, motors and short supports.

Rather than choosing a single ready-made shaft for one fixed application, this pack offers straight stock that can be cut to suit different parts of a project. It’s a good fit if you want to adapt the length yourself and have several matching rods available for miniature builds or DIY craft work.
