hansgrohe Designflex 28260000 Textile Shower Hose, 160 cm, Chrome

If you need a shower hose for a standard water connection, the hansgrohe Designflex 28260000 is listed as compatible with any shower head and a normal G ½ connection. Its 160 cm length and chrome finish make it a practical replacement to consider when you want a textile design rather than a conventional-looking hose.

The braided yarns are made from recycled PET, and the hose is described as lighter and more flexible than a normal shower hose. A special attachment is designed to prevent twisting during use, while the water-repellent outer material is intended to be easy to clean.

The essentials

This is a 160 cm textile shower hose in chrome, with a stated weight of 0.23 kg. Its flexible construction is the main distinction from a standard hose: it is intended to feel less cumbersome while moving the shower head around. That could be useful in a daily shower, particularly when you regularly adjust the head or put it back in its holder. The anti-twist attachment also addresses a familiar nuisance without requiring a different shower head.

Compatibility is described broadly, but the connection detail matters: the hose is listed for a normal G ½ water connection. The manufacturer also states that it meets DVGW drinking water approval. Its recycled-PET braided yarns give it a different finish from a plain, conventional hose, so the choice is partly about appearance as well as handling. It suits you if you want those textile details alongside a flexible hose, a basic hose may be enough if you only need a straightforward replacement and do not value those features.

Maintenance

The outer material is water-repellent and described as easy to clean. It is also stated to be dishwasher safe up to 60 °C, which gives a specific cleaning limit rather than an open-ended claim. No other cleaning method or care routine is provided, so the dishwasher detail should not be taken to mean that every part of a shower installation can be cleaned that way. For routine use, the stated water-repellent surface is the relevant practical point.

Best use cases

The Designflex is suited to a bathroom where the hose is handled often and flexibility is a priority. For example, moving the shower head between a holder and a handheld position should be less encumbered by a hose that is described as lighter and more flexible than a normal one. The anti-twist attachment is also relevant if a hose that turns or tangles is a recurring irritation. Its chrome finish may work well where a coordinated bathroom look is wanted, although no specific matching finish or fitting is identified here.

Compared with choosing a basic hose on function alone, this model adds a braided recycled-PET exterior, a stated anti-twist attachment and easier-cleaning claims. Those details may justify choosing it when handling and finish matter, they are less relevant if the only requirement is a hose that fits the connection. Not the best choice if you need a length other than 160 cm, as no alternative length is specified for this product.

When it makes sense

Choose the hansgrohe Designflex 28260000 when its stated 160 cm length suits your shower, the connection is G ½, and you want a lighter, more flexible textile hose with a chrome finish. The listing also gives an EU spare part availability duration of 15 years, a useful detail for buyers who value access to parts over time. If you are comparing options, focus on fit and length first, then decide whether the textile construction and anti-twist feature are useful in your routine. The dishwasher cleaning claim is limited to 60 °C, so it should not be read as permission for hotter cleaning.
