VOX allows hands-free transmission when your attention is on a task, and USB charging gives you practical options for recharging between shifts or outings. Could a set of radios make it easier for a team to stay coordinated?

Pros

Each radio has 16 programmable channels and supports 50 CTCSS/CDCSS tones per channel, giving groups options for organising their communications. The rotary channel switch keeps selection simple, while the supplied earpieces offer a more discreet way to listen and speak. For tasks where hands are occupied, VOX voice-activated transmission lets you communicate without pressing the talk button, it is activated using the relevant button and channel settings.

The rechargeable lithium-ion batteries charge via USB, including from a power bank, laptop or adapter. The stated average battery life is 8.5 hours, with a stated charging time of 2–3 hours. An integrated LED light is useful in darker surroundings, and the belt clips and slings provide convenient ways to carry the radios. The product listing gives a maximum talking range of 1.5 km, buyers’ comments on range vary, while ease of use, sound and battery life also receive positive feedback.

What to know

The set includes four walkie-talkies, four earpieces, four lithium-ion battery packs, four USB chargers, four belt clips, four slings and a user’s manual. With four radios in one set, a team can equip several people at once rather than sourcing units individually. For example, hotel staff can use separate radios to coordinate between different areas, or an outdoor group can keep its members in contact while moving around.

These are PMR446 two-way radios with 16 channels and a fixed antenna. The listed frequency range is 400–470 MHz, and the radios are described as compatible with eSynic two-way radios, earpieces, antennas and devices operating on UHF 400–470 MHz with compatible channels. The 16-channel dial and supplied earpieces support practical day-to-day coordination, while VOX is useful when a team member needs to keep their hands free.
