## Description

For viewers drawn to gothic horror with a love story at its heart, Dracula offers a fresh screen interpretation of Bram Stoker’s classic. Luc Besson directs Caleb Landry Jones as the infamous count, with Christoph Waltz and Zoë Bleu among the cast. The film follows a 15th-century prince who, after a devastating loss, is cursed with eternal life. This Blu-ray also includes four bonus features for a closer look at the film’s making.

## Size & fit
This is a Region B Blu-ray, so it suits a Blu-ray player that supports Region B discs. The physical format makes it a straightforward choice for a home collection, while the film’s running time of 1 hour and 40 minutes gives you a complete feature-length story for a dedicated evening viewing. If you are choosing between a more traditional retelling of Dracula and a romantic reimagining, this release takes the latter route, centring the count’s search for his lost love across the centuries.

## Why it makes sense
The story draws on the 1897 novel by Bram Stoker but focuses on an untold love story, bringing themes of grief, fate and mortality into its gothic setting. That gives the film a different emphasis from a Dracula adaptation built mainly around the vampire’s menace: here, the journey to find a lost love is central to the narrative. Caleb Landry Jones leads the cast as Dracula, alongside Christoph Waltz and Zoë Bleu, with Matilda De Angelis, Ewens Abid, David Shields and Guillaume de Tonquédec also appearing. Danny Elfman composed the original music, adding another point of interest for viewers who enjoy exploring how a film’s sound supports its atmosphere.

The bonus features extend the viewing beyond the film itself. They include an interview with director Luc Besson, Becoming Dracula, Composing Dracula and Directing Dracula. These give fans of gothic cinema and filmmaking a chance to spend more time with the performance, music and creative choices behind this version. Buyers’ reactions to the story are mixed: some appreciate its romantic approach and Caleb Landry Jones’s performance, while others would have preferred a plot closer to the familiar Dracula narrative. That makes it especially suited to viewers open to a reinterpretation rather than a scene-for-scene retelling.

## When it makes sense
Choose this release for a home film night when you want gothic horror shaped around romance and a search that spans centuries, rather than a straightforward retelling of the familiar vampire story. It also suits viewers interested in Luc Besson’s direction, Caleb Landry Jones’s portrayal of Dracula or Danny Elfman’s original music. The four extras add material to explore after the feature, making the disc relevant to fans who enjoy looking beyond the story to its performance, score and direction. For a collection focused on Dracula adaptations, it brings a distinct angle: the count’s curse and immortality are tied to loss and the pursuit of love.
