## Description

Bring volcanoes and dinosaurs into a hands-on science session at home. The Buki 2224 kit features 15 experiments, from recreating a volcanic eruption to excavating a Tyrannosaurus skeleton. It also introduces children to volcanic rocks through observation. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

## Product specs
- Type: Volcanoes and Dinosaurs science kit
- Model: 2224
- Experiments: 15
- Recommended age: 8 years and up
- Dimensions: 30.5 x 8 x 30.5 centimetres
- Weight: 0.75 kilograms

- Includes: Volcano, three rock samples, magnifying glass, excavation block, digging tool, brush, two small dinosaurs, and experiment equipment and materials

The activities bring together practical experiments and close observation. Children can make a volcanic eruption, create a lava lamp and examine samples of pumice stone, granite and basalt with the magnifying glass. The kit also includes bicarbonate of soda, citric acid and red colouring for its experiments, along with a map and volcano and dinosaur transparencies. Illustrated instructions guide the activities, while the safety booklet provides guidance to follow during use.

## Requirements
No assembly is required. Set out the kit and follow the illustrated instructions for each activity, taking note of the safety guidance in the booklet. The excavation activity uses the supplied plaster block, digging tool and brush: carefully uncover the Tyrannosaurus skeleton, then assemble the pieces. This gives the dinosaur activity a clear practical sequence, from excavation to putting the skeleton together.

The kit is designed for children aged 8 and up. Its experiments use the supplied components, so it offers a ready-made way to explore the listed volcano and dinosaur activities rather than relying on a single toy or display piece. The mix of tools, samples and experiment materials supports scientific understanding and experimental thinking through direct participation.

## Best use cases
This set suits a home science activity focused on geology and prehistoric life. A child can move between observing the three different rocks, carrying out a volcano experiment and working through the dinosaur excavation. That variety makes it useful for a session where the aim is to alternate between experimenting, looking closely and assembling something by hand.

The geology elements give the volcano theme more substance than a standalone eruption activity: rock samples and a magnifying glass encourage closer inspection, while the maps and transparencies add visual material to explore. The dinosaur dig offers a different kind of task, with a tool-based excavation followed by assembly. With 15 experiments in one kit, there is a range of activities to return to rather than just one experiment to complete.

## Buying verdict
Choose the Buki 2224 for a child who is interested in both volcanoes and dinosaurs and would enjoy learning through practical activities. Compared with a single-topic excavation kit or a volcano-only experiment set, it brings both themes together with rock observation, experiments and a skeleton to dig out and assemble. The combination makes it a useful choice for at-home science sessions that balance hands-on discovery with clear, illustrated guidance.
